Miembros de la Nación Mayangna y familiares de las víctimas denunciaron ante la Procuraduría para la Defensa de los Derechos Humanos (PDDH), los hechos violentos ocurridos en la comunidad de Alal, del municipio de Bonanza, en la Región Autónoma de la Costa Caribe Norte, el pasado 29 de enero.

La representación indígena compuesta por 7 personas fue recibida por la procuradora Darling Ríos, quien expresó a los familiares el compromiso del Estado de Nicaragua, de la Procuraduría para la Defensa de los Derechos Humanos de continuar defendiendo los derechos de los pueblos originarios y afrodescendientes.

«Vamos a estar dando seguimiento a todo el plan de seguimiento que se ha ya desarrollado en la región para garantizar el acompañamiento y cada una de las protecciones a los derechos que son necesarios en este momento», dijo Ríos.

«Hemos expresado también la solidaridad del Estado de Nicaragua con las familias, del pueblo de Nicaragua. Esto no es un suceso natural contra nuestros pueblos», apuntó.

Demandan justicia

Elías López Sebastián, profesor de la comunidad Alal y padre de una de las víctimas, denunció que ese día su hijo trabajaba en la finca cuando llegaron los grupos delincuenciales asesinándolo y quemándole su casa, por lo que pidió al presidente Daniel que estos grupos que cometieron ese asesinato sean castigados conforme a ley.

“La otra situación que quiero denunciar es la incursión de campesinos, de mestizos que están ligados a grupos delincuenciales, es gente que tiene antecedentes con la ley, que han asesinado, han violado y esta gente se van a esconder, a refugiarse a estas grandes extensiones de territorio que están en la reserva y esto es un problema para las comunidades indígenas que son los dueños ancestrales de estas tierras”, sostuvo.

“Queremos aprovechar la oportunidad para agradecerle al Gobierno por todo el esfuerzo que se está haciendo, el acompañamiento con todas las familias en la comunidad, ante esta situación, ante esta tragedia que se está viviendo en la comunidad. Queremos reiterar ese agradecimiento en nombre de todas las comunidades Mayangnas”, señaló.

«We have also expressed the solidarity of the State of Nicaragua with the families, of the people of Nicaragua. This is not a natural event against our peoples,» he said.

They demand justice

Elías López Sebastián, professor of the Alal community and father of one of the victims, denounced that his son was working on the farm that day when the criminal groups arrived killing him and burning his house, so he asked President Daniel that these groups that committed That murder be punished according to law.

“The other situation that I want to denounce is the incursion of peasants, of mestizos who are linked to criminal groups, they are people who have a history with the law, who have murdered, raped and these people are going to hide, to take refuge from these great extensions of territory that are in the reserve and this is a problem for the indigenous communities that are the ancestral owners of these lands, ”he said.

“We want to take the opportunity to thank the Government for all the effort that is being made, the accompaniment with all the families in the community, in this situation, in the face of this tragedy that is being lived in the community. We want to reiterate that thanks on behalf of all Mayangnas communities, ”he said
