Corn Island será escenario del programa piloto de movilidad eléctrica

Tras la aprobación de la reforma a la Ley de Estabilidad Energética, Nicaragua podrá disponer del programa de movilidad eléctrica para eliminar la combustión contaminante y utilizar vehículos a base de energía limpia en una fase inicial en Corn Island, localizada en el Caribe Sur, donde se desarrollará el plan piloto.

“Algo muy importante es el proyecto piloto que se va a desarrollar en Corn Island, allí vamos a tener una idea de cómo sería una implementación masiva en el territorio nacional de la movilidad eléctrica, para Corn Island hay un plan que se van a introducir motocicletas y buses eléctricos para el transporte turístico y local de la población, para conocer el desarrollo de esta tecnología”, declaró a la Agencia Sputnik la diputada Jennifer Martínez de la bancada del Frente Sandinista de Liberación Nacional (FSLN).

Corn Island es un paradisíaco destino turístico del Caribe Sur de Nicaragua, donde recién se instaló un sistema híbrido de planta solar con tecnología de punta y un banco de baterías que genera los 890 kilovatios que consumen los habitantes de la isla.

Estas características de su novedoso sistema de transmisión de energía limpia, hacen de Corn Island, un archipiélago formado por Great Corn Island (10 kilómetros cuadrados) y Little Corn Island (2,9), el escenario perfecto para la implementación del programa piloto de movilidad eléctrica, afirmó a la Agencia Sputnik el diputado sandinista Adolfo Pastrán.

“Este componente (movilidad eléctrica) tiene que ver con medio ambiente y protección del clima y la movilidad eléctrica es algo que están empujando las grandes naciones del mundo para dejar de usar los combustibles fósiles y usar energía renovable, Corn Island, es una ciudad pequeña que se ha modernizado mucho, además allí está instalada la planta de generación solar más grande de Nicaragua y ejemplo de América Latina”, expresó el legislador.

La empresa China Communications Construction Company, que recién firmó un acuerdo con el Gobierno de Nicaragua para el desarrollo de inversiones en el proyecto hidroeléctrico Mojolka del Río Grande de Matagalpa (norte), será la multinacional a cargo de financiar el piloto de movilidad eléctrica en Corn Island.

“Este proyecto lo va a financiar la República Popular China”, afirmó el diputado.

La reforma a la ley incorpora el estímulo fiscal para la importación de vehículos eléctricos, exonerando el 100% para aquellos que no sobrepasen el costo de 30.000 dólares y una gradualidad de dispensa fiscal del 75 al 33% en automotores cuyo coste oscila entre 31.000 y 60.000 dólares.

La ley establece la exención para vehículos eléctricos nuevos, entendidos estos como todo vehículo automotor utilizado para el traslado de carga liviana, pesada o transporte de pasajeros, para uso terrestre o acuático, propulsado totalmente con energía eléctrica procedente de sus baterías y que se recarga de la red eléctrica.

Corn Island will be the scene of the electric mobility pilot program

After the approval of the reform to the Energy Stability Law, Nicaragua will be able to have the electric mobility program to eliminate polluting combustion and use vehicles based on clean energy in an initial phase in Corn Island, located in the South Caribbean, where will develop the pilot plan.

“Something very important is the pilot project that is going to be developed in Corn Island, there we are going to have an idea of ​​what a massive implementation of electric mobility in the national territory would be like, for Corn Island there is a plan that motorcycles are going to be introduced and electric buses for tourist and local transportation of the population, to learn about the development of this technology,” congresswoman Jennifer Martínez from the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) caucus told Sputnik Agency.

Corn Island is a paradisiacal tourist destination in the South Caribbean of Nicaragua, where a hybrid solar plant system with state-of-the-art technology and a battery bank that generates the 890 kilowatts consumed by the island’s inhabitants was recently installed.

The China Communications Construction Company, which recently signed an agreement with the Government of Nicaragua for the development of investments in the Mojolka hydroelectric project of the Río Grande de Matagalpa (north), will be the multinational in charge of financing the electric mobility pilot in Corn Island.

«This project is going to be financed by the People’s Republic of China,» said the deputy.

The reform to the law incorporates the tax incentive for the importation of electric vehicles, exempting 100% for those that do not exceed the cost of 30,000 dollars and a gradual tax exemption from 75 to 33% in motor vehicles whose cost ranges between 31,000 and 60,000 Dollars.

The law establishes the exemption for new electric vehicles, understood as any motor vehicle used to transport light or heavy cargo or transport passengers, for land or water use, fully propelled with electric power from its batteries and that is recharged from the electrical network.
