Strong water rationing due to problems in a water source in Siuna

The more than 600 subscribers of the Jorge Navarro, Olivero and San Pablo water project are being affected by severe water rationing, due to litigation involving one of the water collection sources, which has the water project working at fifty percent.

The above was explained by Rodolfo Gonzales, president of the Drinking Water Committee.

The subscribers receive the water for a few hours and that is because the water source is in litigation between Cesar Siles, Arturo Báez and Saturnina Gonzales, so the source cannot be bought from a person, while the domain of the place is ventilated in the Supreme Court of Justice.

The water from that source is being diverted and more than 600 families in the three Siuna neighborhoods that received water 24 hours a day have been affected, forcing the project administrators to heavily ration the vital liquid.

Rodolfo Gonzales explained that a water source has already been purchased in Campo Uno Madriguera, which will come to solve the problem, in that source that is at the passage of the line about 18 meters, trenching and pipe installation work will be carried out. to supply the water project.

The president of the water committee explained that the works are expected to take about 21 days to solve the problem.

The water source was compared to Dionicio Gonzales where there is enough capacity to capture with a 3-inch tube, the other 50 is fed by the project’s source and with that the water supply to the subscribers would be solved again.

Currently, only one water source is being worked on and it is the one that was bought from Rodolfo Duarte and it is the only one that is working.

Rodolfo Gonzales said that to alleviate the situation this weekend they will carry out some works in the place while progress is being made with the major trenching and installation of pipes.
