Muere un minero artesanal producto de un derrumbe en el cerro Potosí en Siuna

El Minero artesanal identificado como Abel Flores Salgado de 39 años, murió tras quedar atrapado en una enorme cantidad de tierra, quien le cayó en un derrumbe en el cerro Potosí en Siuna, Región Autónoma de la Costa Caribe Norte.

El hecho ocurrió a las nueve de la mañana de este miércoles cuando se encontraban laborando en la mina a tajo abierto donde trabajaban cinco personas, entre ellos Marvin José Salmerón Hernández.

Estaban trabajando los cinco cuando comenzó una llovizna, uno de los que se encontraban con Flores Salgado, se salió y vio el peligro, que había peligro y a los cinco minutos de ponerle en alerta se vino el derrumbe, le cayó la tierra encima.

Mario José Mora, otro de los mineros que trabajan en el lugar dijo que él se encontraba trabajando arriba y uno de los que estaban abajo subió a avisar que había quedado uno atrapado por el derrumbe y cuando llegaron todavía el hombre se quejaba.

“Cuando yo llegue estaba aterrado, no se miraba, pero se escuchaban los quejidos todavía y al rato se quedo callado sin decir nada” afirmo el testigo.

Los demás mineros dijeron que Flores Salgado está metido en la mina y cuando intento salir no logró y quedo atrapado por el derrumbe de tierra.

El Minero artesanal al momento del accidente no portaba casco de seguridad, el se encontraba bien metido dentro de la mina y cuando vio el peligro salió corriendo, pero no pudo salir.

El cuerpo del minero fue rescatado por miembros de la Dirección General de Bomberos de Nicaragua en Siuna ya sin vida y llevado al hospital Carlos Centeno, pero llego sin signos vitales.

Mario Alberto Pérez Valle, responsable de a unidad de Gestión Integral del riesgo en la alcaldía de Siuna, dijo que el colectivo Los Angelitos cuya presidenta es Mirian del Crimen Moreno Picado de 48 años, quien es la esposa del fallecido y el accidente no se dio dentro del túnel sino a tajo abierto, donde se verifico que no se tenían las medidas de prevención.

“El no andaba casco, si lo tenia el resultado fuera otro, se vino un derrumbe donde estaban campaneando, se dio el revenido y eso le cayo encima y lo dejo aterrado” afirmó Pérez Valle.  

En el cerro Potosí trabajan un total de 12 colectivos de Mineros Artesanales y unas 120 personas que se dedican a la Minería Artesanal.

«When I arrived he was terrified, he did not look at himself, but the moans were still heard and after a while he remained silent without saying anything,» said the witness.

The other miners said that Flores Salgado is in the mine and when he tried to get out he did not succeed and was trapped by the landslide.

The artisanal miner at the time of the accident was not wearing a safety helmet, he was well inside the mine and when he saw the danger he ran away, but could not get out.

The body of the miner was rescued by members of the Nicaraguan Fire Department in Siuna, already dead and taken to the Carlos Centeno hospital, but arrived without vital signs.

A total of 12 Artisanal Mining collectives and about 120 people who are dedicated to Artisanal Mining work in Cerro Potosí.
