Nicaragua vence a Puerto Rico en el Preolímpico

La selección de Béisbol de Nicaragua venció este martes 7×6 a Puerto Rico en extra innings en el Preolímpico de las Américas que se está jugando en Florida.

El derecho Berman Espinoza se apuntó la victoria en Palm Beaches donde se llevó a cabo el partido. Espinoza lanzó 2 entradas completas permitiendo solo un imparable y ponchó tres enemigos. Sheyder García salvó el compromiso por los dirigidos por Marvin Benard.

Tras un mal partido ofensivo ante Estados Unidos el pasado lunes al conectar solo 5 hits, Nicaragua explotó su ofensiva este martes. Jilton Calderón adelantó a los nicas en la primera entrada al conectar sencillo al jardín izquierdo y anotó Brandon Leyton desde la segunda base.

En el segundo capítulo Luis Alen descargó cuadrangular solitario hacía la banda izquierda para adelantar a los pinoleros 2×0.

Los boricuas respondieron en la baja de la misma entrada con jonrón de Jesmuel Valentin con un hombre abordo para empatar las acciones 2×2.

Después de un mal fildeo de Norlando Valle tras un batazo de Iván de Jesús Jr, Puerto Rico anotó par de carreras más y dejar el marcador en 4×2. La quinta quiniela de los Boricuas vino después de un error en tiro de Benjamín Alegría a la primera base.

Nicaragua empató y remotón en Palm Beaches

En el octavo inning Benjamín Alegría consiguió un doble que acercó tras la anotación de Ismael Munguía y dejó la pizarra 5×3.

En el mismo espisodio luego de entrar de emergente Edgard Montiel conectó sencillo al jardín izquierdo y empató el partido cuando Brandon Leytón y Benjamín Alegría lograron anotar por Nicaragua.

Ofilio Castro anotó la carrera del desempate en la décima entrada luego que el lanzador Freddie Muniz que cargó con la derrota propinara un Wild Pitch. Juan Diego Montes produjo la séptima carrera de los nicas con Fly de Sacrificio.

Los boricuas lograron una carrera más, pero Sheyder García entró a salvar el partido y le dio su primera victoria a los nicas en el Preolímpico de las Américas.

Entre los bateadores sobresalientes están Benjamín Alegría que terminó de 4-2 con par de dobles, 2 anotadas y una impulsada. El chinandegano Ismael Munguía se fue de 5-2 con una anotada y el receptor Luis Alen conectó un jonrón en tres turnos al bate.

Nicaragua buscará avanzar a la segunda ronda del torneo al enfrentar a República Dominicana este miércoles a las 11 de la mañana. Puerto Rico quedó eliminado matematicamente tras las dos derrotas.

Nicaragua beats Puerto Rico in the Pre-Olympic

The Nicaraguan Baseball team beat Puerto Rico 7 × 6 in extra innings on Tuesday at the Americas Pre-Olympic Qualifying which is being played in Florida.

Right-hander Berman Espinoza scored victory at the Palm Beaches where the game took place. Espinoza pitched 2 full innings allowing only one hit and struck out three enemies. Sheyder García saved the commitment by those led by Marvin Benard.

After a bad offensive game against the United States last Monday by connecting only 5 hits, Nicaragua exploded its offense this Tuesday. Jilton Calderón put the Nicas ahead in the first inning by singling to left field and Brandon Leyton scored from second base.

In the second chapter Luis Alen unloaded a solo homer to the left wing to overtake the pinoleros 2 × 0.

The Puerto Ricans responded in the loss of the same inning with a home run by Jesmuel Valentin with a man on board to tie the actions 2 × 2.

After a bad fielding by Norlando Valle after a hit by Iván de Jesús Jr, Puerto Rico scored a couple more runs and left the score at 4 × 2. The fifth pool of the Boricuas came after a shooting error by Benjamín Alegría to first base.

Nicaragua tied and remotón in Palm Beaches

In the eighth inning Benjamín Alegría got a double that he approached after Ismael Munguía’s score and left the scoreboard 5 × 3.

In the same episode after emerging from pinch-hitter Edgard Montiel singled to left field and tied the game when Brandon Leytón and Benjamín Alegría scored for Nicaragua.

Ofilio Castro scored the tiebreaker run in the 10th after losing pitcher Freddie Muniz delivered a Wild Pitch. Juan Diego Montes produced the nicas’ seventh race with Fly de Sacrificio.

The Puerto Ricans achieved one more run, but Sheyder García came in to save the match and gave the Nicaraguan their first victory in the Americas Pre-Olympic.

Among the outstanding hitters are Benjamín Alegría, who finished 4-2 with a pair of doubles, 2 runs scored and an RBI. Chinandegano Ismael Munguía went 5-2 with a run scored and catcher Luis Alen homered in three at-bats.

Nicaragua will seek to advance to the second round of the tournament by facing the Dominican Republic this Wednesday at 11 a.m. Puerto Rico was eliminated mathematically after the two defeats.
