Los difuntos que quedaron en el olvido en cementerio de Bluefields

La soledad y el abandono son parte del cementerio San Juan de Dios en la ciudad de Bluefields. No solo es abandono por parte de familiares, a veces la migración de los familiares de los difuntos también puede ser cómplice de este abandono.

Esas tumbas se suman a la soledad del panteón, muchas de ellas llenas de maleza y las cruces se pierden entre las ramas.

Desafortunadamente, no todas las tumbas, lápidas y capillas que existen en el panteón municipal reciben el cuidado adecuado por parte de familiares de los difuntos que descansan en este camposanto, por lo que muchas están en mal estado y otras destruidas en su totalidad.

Algunas parecen tener sólo un par de meses desde que se dejaron de limpiar, pero hay otras en donde se nota que no han sido visitadas durante años, pues en el lugar se pueden encontrar esculturas rotas, tumbas que se caen en pedazos, empozadas de agua y otras están bajo montículos de escombros.

Dicen que uno muere realmente cuando ya nadie lo recuerda, cuando la tumba del difunto se llena de maleza, cuando no hay flores frescas, tumbas que años no se pintan o porque los familiares han dejado de visitarlos.

Hay fosas en el cementerio de Bluefields, donde reina el olvido, tumbas que jamás, ni siquiera el 2 de noviembre, son visitadas.

Es necesario preservar el respeto y cariño al familiar fallecido y no solamente durante el día de muertos.

Es importante que vengamos a visitarlos con la misma alegría y cariño que cuando estaban vivos, no dejemos morir sus recuerdos, recuerden que ellos viven a través del amor de sus familias.

Some seem to have only a couple of months since they were stopped cleaning, but there are others where it is noted that they have not been visited for years, because in the place you can find broken sculptures, tombs that fall to pieces, impounded with water and others are under rubble mounds.

They say that one really dies when no one remembers it anymore, when the grave of the deceased is overgrown with weeds, when there are no fresh flowers, graves that have not been painted for years or because family members have stopped visiting them.

There are graves in Bluefields Cemetery, where oblivion reigns, graves that have never been visited, not even on November 2.

It is necessary to preserve the respect and affection for the deceased family member and not only during the day of the dead.

It is important that we come to visit them with the same joy and affection as when they were alive, do not let their memories die, remember that they live through the love of their families.
