Los Playoffs del Campeonato German Pomares Ordoñez, se han convertido desde 2015 en el talón de Aquiles de los Toros de Chontales, que el pasado martes ante Estelí cayeron por barrida (3-0) y firmaron su quinto descalabro de manera consecutiva en esta instancia.

Estelí se encargó de propinar la tercera barrida a los Toros quienes sufrieron de manera consecutiva la escoba en 2016 ante los Dantos y en 2017 ante el Frente Sur Rivas.

MATAGALPA EL PRIMER VERDUGO

El difícil camino de Chontales en Playoffs inicio en 2015 ante Matagalpa. Los Indígenas arrancaron dicha serie con victoria ajustada 4×3 con triunfo de Elvin Orozco, derrota de Erasmo Reyes y salvamento de Wilfredo Amador.

Los Toros empatarían la serie con imponente KO en 7 episodios 11×1 con triunfo de José Villegas ante Wilder Rayo. Los Toros tomarían ventaja en la serie al imponerse en el tercer duelo en Chale Solís 7×4 con victoria de Carlos Morla, salvamento de Evert Morales y derrota de Wilfredo Amador.

La localía en el cuarto juego no pesó para los Toros que sucumbieron de nueva cuenta ante Elvin Orozco 10×5, Erasmo Reyes volvería a cargar con la derrota. Evert Andino se convertía en el verdugo de los Toros en el quinto y decisivo encuentro, con sencillo impulsador en el cierre del noveno dejaría tendido a Chontales 7×6, Rigoberto Martínez sería el vencedor y Everth Morales el derrotado. Chontales perdió la serie 3×2.

EL PODERÍO DE LOS DANTOS

En 2016 los Toros no pudieron dar batalla a “La Maquinaría Roja” de los Dantos quienes les propinarían su primera barrida en Playoffs. En el Antiguo Estadio Nacional Carlos Téller sería el artífice de la primera estocada con victoria 4×1, Samuel Estrada salvaría el encuentro y José Villegas fue el derrotado.

En el Carlos Guerra Colindres la lluvia no sería aliada de los locales al recortar el encuentro en 6 episodios en los que Jorge Bucardo blanqueó 4×0 a la tropa chontaleña, Erasmo Reye sería el perdedor. Los Dantos firmaron la barrida en la capital con un contundente KO en 7 episodios con score 12×1 con victoria de Gustavo Martínez y derrota de José David Rugama

EL pitcheo de los Dantos, causó estragos al bateo chontaleño que firmó en 2016 su peor actuación colectiva a la ofensiva con solamente 10 imparables en 3 juegos, 2 carreras anotadas y un pobre .139 de average colectivo

FRENTE SUR REPITIÓ LA DÓSIS

En 2017 los papeles no cambiaron para los Toros, en la acera de enfrente el Frente Sur Rivas se encargó de sacar la escoba para volverles a dejar fuera en 3 encuentros. En la ciudad de los mangos, Juan Bermúdez con salvamento de Carlos Pérez Estrella le ganó la partida 6×4 a José Elias Villegas.

En Juigalpa, Carlos Pérez Estrella en relevo se agenciaría el triunfo 7x3y nuevamente sería José Villegas en relevo el pitcher derrotado. La barrida se concretó en el Yamil Rios Ugarte con los Toros amarrados y blanqueados por Pedro Torres 9×0, José David Rugama fue el derrotado.

En 2018 por los recortes sufridos en el calendario del campeonato, la etapa de Playoffss no se realizó por lo que los Toros accedieron a semifinales después de concluida la etapa regular donde caerían por barrida (4-0) a manos del Bóer

RUGIÓ LEÓN

En 2019 se realizaron de nueva cuenta los Cuartos de Final y esta vez sería León el rival a vencer. En la ciudad universitaria Erasmo Reyes y los Toros sucumbieron noqueados en 7 episodios 12×2 ante Fidencio Flores.

La respuesta de Chontales fue contundente, en el segundo encuentro castigaron al ex grandes ligas Wilton López y se encargaron de noquear en 8 episodios 15×5 a los melenudos para igualar la serie, José David Rugama fue el ganador.

En el tercer compromiso el pitcheo de los chontaleños fue incapaz de sostener la ventaja y terminaron cayendo derrotados en 10 episodios 10×9. La agonía se extendería horas en el cuarto compromiso.

En el cuarto encuentro una falla en las luminarias del Carlos Guerra obligó a la suspensión del encuentro, en su reanudación al día siguiente los Toros cayeron 7×5 con victoria de Fidencio Flores, derrota de Erasmo Reyes y salvamento de WIlton López.

ESTELI FUE MÁS

Este 2020 pese a contar con nombres como Erasmo Reyes, José David Rugama, José Villegas, Nebil Aburto, Sheyder García y Apolinar García, nuevamente el pitcheo no pudo sostener las ventajas que su ofensiva garantizó.

Los promediaron .309 de average colectivo siendo este su tercer mejor average en etapa de playoffs. Arrancaron la serie con derrota 10×8 en el Rufo Marín con derrota de José Villegas en relevo y triunfo de Félix Carrasco.

En el segundo encuentro protagonizaron una reñida y larga batalla ante los estelianos pero terminarían sucumbiendo 15×14 en 13 episodios con todo y los 5 errores cometidos por los visitantes y los 17 imparables conectados, su pitcheo no fue capaz de sostener un tempranero 5×0 a favor en solo el primer tercio de juego.

Estelí volvió a dejar al desnudo la fragilidad del pitcheo chontaleño en esta instancia del campeonato. Efímera fue una ventaja de 3×0 en solo el primer episodio que se borraría en el cierre de la misma entrada para terminar cayendo 12×4 en el “Diamante de las Segovia”

Ante Estelí, el pitcheo chontaleño firma su peor actuación en cinco apariciones en playoffs. 49 hits permitidos la mayor cantidad que permiten dejando tras los 47 de 2015, 38 carreras permitidas superando las 34 permitidas en 2019, 33 carreras limpias permitidas dejan atrás las 26 toleradas en 2015.

Ante Estelí su pitcheo lanzó para un desastroso 10.24 borrando así los 8.55 para los que lanzaron en 2016 ante Los Dantos. Su pitcheo general en playoffs cierra con balance de 3-15, 197 hits permitidos, 11 cuadrangulares, 140 carreras, 117 limpias y efectividad de 7.11

The playoffs, the Achilles heel of the Chontales bulls

The Playoffs of the German Pomares Ordonez Championship have become the Achilles heel of the Toros de Chontales since 2015, which last Tuesday against Estelí fell by sweep (3-0) and signed their fifth consecutive loss in this instance.
