Dantos y Estelí darán inicio a la etapa semifinal del Campeonato German Pomares 2020 cuando se miren las caras este jueves 16 de julio en el primer duelo a partir de las 6 de la tarde en serie pactada al mejor de 7 juegos.

Será la primera vez que Estelí y Dantos se crucen en esta instancia y será para ambas franquicias su quinta semifinal en esta nueva etapa de los Pomares que arrancó en 2009.

ESTELI RETORNA A SEMIFINALES

Estelí vuelve a semifinal tras haberlo hecho por última vez en 2017 cuando sucumbió 3-2 ante León. Para la tropa de “El Diamante de las Segovias” será la aparición número 11 en semifinal desde 1970.

Fue en la temporada de 1974 cuando Estelí se clasificó por primera vez a semifinales con Manuel Díaz como timonel. Finalmente, esa temporada llegarían a la serie final donde caerían en 7 juegos ante el Chinandega de Noel Areas.

En el arranque de la nueva etapa de los Pomares, el conjunto norteño disputó tres semifinales al hilo. En 2009 fue protagonista de feroz remontada ante el Bóer. En una serie pactada al mejor de 7 y con desventaja de 1-3, se encargaron de ganar los juegos 5,6 y 7 para clasificarse a la final.

En 2010 volvieron a aparecer en semifinales esta vez ante la Costa Caribe quedando eliminados 2-3. En 2011 fueron parte de una semifinal disputada junto a Bóer, Costa Caribe y Carazo. Terminarían clasificando a la final como segundos con balance de 6-3 y se proclamarían campeones ante el team caribeño.

Seis años debieron esperar para volver a hacer presencia en semifinales. Tras remontar en cuartos de final ante la Costa Caribe se midieron en semifinales ante León quedando eliminados en el máximo de cinco partidos (2-3). De manera general desde 1970, presentan balance de 71-77 en series semifinales. Se ha clasificado a la final en 6 de sus 11 semifinales disputadas.

La tropa dirigida por Eloy Morales culminó la primera vuelta como líder del Grupo A (19-11) finalizaron segundos en la Segunda Vuelta (10-4) y se encargaron de barrer a Chontales (3-0) en la ronda de Cuartos de Final

Desde 2009 su pitcheo tiene balance de 14-12 en instancia de semifinales. Estelí busca regresar a las finales en Primera División por séptima ocasión

EL PODERÍO DE LOS DANTOS

Los Dantos afrontarán por vez número 13 las semifinales en el béisbol de primera división desde su primera incursión en la temporada del Pomares de 1982 cuando dejaron fuera en 5 compromiso (3-2) al Granada.

La maquinaria roja ha salido airosa en 8 de sus 12 semifinales previas disputadas, solamente fueron derrotados por León en 1983 y 2015, por Chinandega en 1989 y recientemente por el Bóer en 2019.

De manera global el balance de los capitalinos en semifinales es de 35-29 en juegos ganados y perdidos. En la nueva etapa de los Pomares clasificaron a semifinales por primera vez en 2015 donde quedaron fuera ante León (2-3) tras desperdiciar ventaja de 2-1

En 2016 remontaron desventaja de 2-1 para dejar en el camino a la Costa Caribe en cinco compromisos. En 2018 nuevamente se impusieron a la Costa Caribe en un total de seis juegos (4-2) ya en 2019 cayeron ante el Bóer en cinco compromisos (2-3) tras haber estado en ventaja 2-0.

En la nueva era de los Pomares el balance en semifinales de los Dantos es de 11-10, su ofensiva colectiva registra de por vida .300 de average, con 220 hits, 17 vuelacercas y 128 carreras anotadas. Su Staff de pitcheo permite 115 carreras, 178 hits, 14 cuadrangulares y lanzan para 4.35 Los capitalinos buscan colarse por vez número 9 a las finales.

Llegaron a esta etapa luego de culminar como líderes del Grupo B en la primera etapa (22-8) fueron tercer en la Segunda Vuelta (10-5) y dejaron fuera por barrida a Nueva Segovia (3-0) en la ronda de Playoffs.
