Incendio reduce a cenizas la Sangre de Cristo
La venerada imagen de la Sangre de Cristo y su capilla en la Catedral de Mangua, quedaron reducidas a cenizas tras un incendio aparentemente provocado la mañana de este viernes.
Aunque rápidamente se movilizaron equipos del Cuerpo de Bomberos Unificados a sofocar el siniestro, las llamas devoraron por completo la imagen, que data de más de 200 años de antigüedad, y su capilla, construida especialmente en 1993, cuando se inauguró la nueva catedral de Managua.
Las llamas rompieron rompió la cápsula de vidrio que cubría la imagen y destruyeron el altar en el que estaba la Sangre de Cristo.
La Arquidiócesis de Managua, encabezada por el Cardenal Leopoldo Brenes, emitió un comunicado en el cual asegura que el viernes 31 de julio «a las 11 am, una persona no identificada ingresó a la Capilla de la Sangre de Cristo en la Catedral Metropolitana de Managua y arrojó una bomba produciendo un incendio dentro de la Capilla», en donde también permanece expuesto el Santísimo en su sagrario.
La Arquidiócesis califica el hecho como «un acto de sacrilegio y profanación totalmente condenable, por lo que debemos permanecer en oración para derrotar a las fuerzas malignas».
No hubo víctimas humanas, aunque los feligreses que se encontraban en la Catedral estaban asombrados al ver las llamas que devoraban el altar.
Los bomberos y la Policía Nacional realizan las labores de limpieza e investigan causas del incendio.
En un comunicado preliminar del arquidiócesis de Managua en un comunicado oficial indica que a las 11.00 de la mañana de este 31 de julio una persona no identificada ingreso a la catedral metropolitana de Managua y arrojo una bomba produciendo un incendio en la capilla donde permanece la consagrada y venerada la imagen de la Sangre de Cristo y expuesto el Santísimo en su santuario.
Las autoridades eclesiásticas emitirán posteriormente un comunicado luego de la evaluación de los daños.
