Rio Iyas crece y amenaza con inundar viviendas entre Waslala y Siuna

El rio Iyas a comenzado a crecer y salirse de su caudal según han expresado varios comunitarios que pone en riesgo a las familias que viven sobre las riberas del rio, entre Waslala y Siuna en el Caribe Norte.

Las autoridades del Comité Municipal de Prevención Mitigación y Atención de desastres de Siuna, señalaron que tenían información que el rio estaba creciendo, pero no había ningún daño, afirmo Mario Pérez del área de Gestión de Riesgo de la Alcaldía Municipal del Siuna.

El funcionario detalló que una comisión saldrá esta tarde para realizar una inspección hacia el sector para verificar si hay daños o se requiere evacuar familias hacia zonas seguras.

“Estamos monitoreando los ríos en el municipio y hemos definido que hoy saldremos a realizar la inspección en el lugar” afirmo Pérez.

The Iyas river has begun to grow and go out of its flow, according to several community members that puts the families who live on the banks of the river at risk.

The authorities of the Municipal Committee for Prevention, Mitigation and Attention to disasters of Siuna, indicated that they had information that the river was rising, but there was no damage, said Mario Pérez from the Risk Management area of the Municipal Mayor’s Office of Siuna.

The official explained that a commission will leave this afternoon to carry out an inspection of the sector to verify if there is damage or it is necessary to evacuate families to safe areas.

«We are monitoring the rivers in the municipality and we have defined that today we will go out to carry out the inspection at the site,» said Pérez.
