15 thousand residents of Bluefields will have drinking water

The works to improve the drinking water service to at least 15 thousand families in the city of Bluefields, in the South Caribbean, will be ready at the end of the year, the municipal authorities said this Thursday.

Mayor Gustavo Castro Jo recalled that the majority of locals currently obtain the vital liquid through wells and other 2,200 families through a system administered by ENACAL.

The official announced that they will also begin the installation of the sanitary sewer service that will improve the quality of life and health of the population of the Campos Azules.

He added that once both projects are completed, they will carry out a work to clean up the Bluefields bay.

Project execution progresses

Of 89 projects to be carried out this year in the city of Bluefields, South Caribbean, more than 50 percent have been carried out in the first semester, Mayor Gustavo Castro Jo reported this Thursday.

He explained that seven rural roads were rehabilitated, representing about 800 kilometers, to connect the road with the different communities. Likewise, 50 low-income houses have been delivered to the same number of families.

He indicated that as part of the winter plan, 8 bridges were improved in rural areas and 6 in the urban area, a joint effort with the communities and funds of the Campos Azules commune.

He added that institutes, schools and health centers were also rehabilitated. In addition, the municipal market was repaired and a new cemetery will be built, among other works.

15 mil pobladores de Bluefields tendrán agua potable

Las obras para mejorar el servicio de agua potable a por lo menos 15 mil familias en la ciudad de Bluefields, en el Caribe Sur, estarán listas al concluir el año expresaron este jueves las autoridades municipales.

El alcalde Gustavo Castro Jo recordó que la mayoría de blufileños actualmente obtienen el vital líquido a través de pozos y  otras 2 mil 200 familias mediante un sistema que administra ENACAL.

El funcionario anunció que también iniciarán la instalación del servicio de alcantarillado sanitario que permitirá mejorar la calidad de vida y salud de la población de los Campos Azules.

Agregó que una vez concluido ambos proyectos, ejecutarán una obra para el saneamiento de la bahía de Bluefields.

Avanza ejecución de proyectos

De 89 proyectos a ejecutar este año en la ciudad de Bluefields, Caribe Sur, más de un 50 por ciento se han logrado realizar en el primer semestre informó este jueves el alcalde Gustavo Castro Jo.

Detalló que se rehabilitaron siete caminos rurales, lo que representa unos 800 kilómetros, para conectar la carretera con las diferentes comunidades. Asimismo se han entregado 50 viviendas de interés social a igual cantidad de familias.

Indicó que como parte del plan invierno se mejoraron 8 puentes en las zonas rurales y 6 en el casco urbano, esfuerzo conjunto con las comunidades y fondos de la comuna de los Campos Azules.

Agregó que también se rehabilitaron institutos, colegios y centros de salud. Además se reparó el mercado municipal y se construirá un nuevo cementerio, entre otras obras.
