Asamblea Nacional honra con medalla de oro a Héroes de la Salud
Los diputados entregaron este jueves a todos los trabajadores de la salud, la Medalla de Honor en Oro de la Asamblea Nacional, en reconocimiento a la heroica labor que vienen realizando en el contexto de la pandemia del Covid-19.
“La Asamblea Nacional reconoce la ardua labor heroica que realiza el gremio de las y los trabajadores de la salud en el frente de la lucha contra la pandemia decretada del covid-19 y todas las enfermedades respondiendo con dedicación, esfuerzo, atención humanizada, cariño, compromiso y labor patriótica al cuido, recuperación y bienestar de todo el pueblo nicaragüense”, destaca la resolución parlamentaria”, dijo la diputada Raquel Dixon, al dar lectura a la resolución.
El doctor Gustavo Porras Cortés, presidente de la Asamblea Nacional, reconoció la labor y sacrificio de todos los trabajadores de la salud por garantizar el derecho a este servicio a todos los nicaragüenses.
En el acto participaron la Ministra Asesora en Salud, doctora Sonia Castro, la Ministra Asesora Carolina Dávila, la Ministra de Salud Martha Reyes, el viceministro Enrique Beteta, el Secretario del Ministerio de Salud Carlos Sáenz y trabajadores de los hospitales y centros asistenciales.
No necesitabas un título de Harvard, sino un corazón de oro
En representación de los trabajadores de la salud, la doctora intensivista Nathalia Fonseca tomó la palabra en donde dejó claro que no se necesitaba un título de Harvard para enfrentar la pandemia del Covid-19, sino un corazón de oro.
«Para mí y en nombre de mis compañeros de trabajo puedo decir que realmente es un honor estar trabajando para al pueblo y de cara al pueblo. Es importante que sepan que en esta labor no solo estamos uno, estamos muchos, no solo hay un intensivista, hay muchos intensivistas, hay enfermeras, hay personal de apoyo, hay personal de laboratorio, hay de todas las índoles hasta administrativos, no solo uno tiene que desvelarse nos desvelamos todos y eso ha garantizado que podamos salir adelante», indicó Fonseca.
Reconoció que el Covid-19 es una enfermedad muy compleja, pero que la unidad de todos junto con la familia es fundamental para salir victorioso y vencer el virus.
«Sabíamos que teníamos fortaleza y una es que había semillas por toda Nicaragua desde Bilwi hasta Río San Juan, sabíamos que había un intensivista preparado que no se preparó ayer, ni antier no somos una lucha de una semana, los médicos somos una lucha de años desde nuestra primaria, secundaria, universidad, especialidad, sub especialidad, los médicos no nos formamos en cinco meses nos formamos en muchos años y de eso gracias a Dios en Nicaragua había y muy importante pueden haber miles de intensivistas, pero personas con compromiso por el pueblo, personas que no pongan condiciones para ayudar al pueblo y que tengan convicción y que no esperan nada a cambio son los que estamos y quedamos y vamos a seguir», añadió Fonseca.
La galeno dejó claro que nunca dudó en ponerse al frente de la lucha contra la covid-19 y tampoco puso condiciones cuando la llamaron.
«Yo realmente aprendí que no necesito un título de Harvard para estar ahí, lo que se necesita es tener un corazón de oro para seguir frente al paciente y tengo enorme respeto por los compañeros que han dado sus días, sus noches y conozco muchos que han dormido en los hospitales por semanas, por meses, con tal de ayudar a la gente sin cansarse, si decir no puedo, dejaron sus familias, se fueron a una área donde podían estar cerca de los pacientes donde podían, en resguardo porque tuvimos que dejar parte de nuestras vidas por estar cerca de nuestros pacientes» señaló Fonseca.
La medalla fue recibida por el ginecólogo Roberto zapata, Virginia García, directora del hispital Veléz Paíz, y la doctora Martha Reyes, Ministra de Salud.
La Orden fue recibida por la Asesora Presidencial Sonia Castro, la intensivista Nathalia Fonseca, e Ivón Calero Secretaria de Fetsalud.
National Assembly honors Heroes of Health with a gold medal
The deputies presented this Thursday to all health workers, the Gold Medal of Honor of the National Assembly, in recognition of the heroic work they have been doing in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.
«The National Assembly recognizes the heroic hard work carried out by the union of health workers on the front lines of the fight against the covid-19 decreed pandemic and all diseases, responding with dedication, effort, humanized attention, affection, commitment and patriotic work to the care, recovery and well-being of all the Nicaraguan people, «stresses the parliamentary resolution,» said deputy Raquel Dixon, reading the resolution.

You didn’t need a Harvard degree, but a heart of gold
Representing health workers, intensivist doctor Nathalia Fonseca took the floor where she made it clear that a Harvard degree was not needed to face the Covid-19 pandemic, but a heart of gold.
«For me and on behalf of my coworkers I can say that it really is an honor to be working for the people and facing the people. It is important that they know that in this work we are not only one, we are many, there is not only an intensivist There are many intensivists, there are nurses, there are support personnel, there are laboratory personnel, there are all kinds, even administrative ones, not only does one have to reveal ourselves, we all reveal ourselves, and that has guaranteed that we can get ahead, «said Fonseca.
She recognized that Covid-19 is a very complex disease, but that the unity of all together with the family is essential to emerge victorious and overcome the virus.
«We knew that we had strength and one is that there were seeds throughout Nicaragua from Bilwi to Río San Juan, we knew that there was a trained intensivist who did not prepare yesterday, nor the day before yesterday we are not a fight for a week, the doctors are a fight for years from our primary, secondary, university, specialty, sub-specialty, we doctors weren’t trained in five months we trained in many years and thanks to God in Nicaragua there were and very importantly there may be thousands of intensivists, but people with a commitment to people, people who do not put conditions to help the people and who have conviction and who do not expect anything in return are those who are and stay and we will continue, «added Fonseca.
The doctor made it clear that he never hesitated to take the lead in the fight against covid-19 and did not put conditions when they called her.
«I really learned that I don’t need a Harvard degree to be there, what it takes is to have a heart of gold to continue facing the patient and I have enormous respect for the colleagues who have given their days, their nights and I know many who have I slept in hospitals for weeks, for months, in order to help people without getting tired, if I can’t say it, they left their families, they went to an area where they could be close to the patients where they could, sheltered because we had to leave part of our lives by being close to our patients, «said Fonseca.
The medal was received by gynecologist Roberto Zapata, Virginia García, director of the Veléz Paíz hospital, and Dr. Martha Reyes, Minister of Health.
The Order was received by the Presidential Adviser Sonia Castro, the intensivist Nathalia Fonseca, and Ivón Calero Secretary of Fetsalud.
