Ejército retiene embarcación con 23 inmigrantes ilegales

Efectivos del Ejército retuvieron 1 embarcación de nombre “KEYTI VANESA 1”, con 4 tripulantes de nacionalidad nicaragüense y 23 migrantes ilegales a bordo, quienes ingresaron al país de manera ilegal por la vía marítima, procedentes de Costa Rica.

De acuerdo con una nota de prensa, los migrantes ilegales son provenientes de los siguientes países: 14 de Haití, 3 de Panamá, 2 de Brasil, 2 del Estado de Eritrea, 1 del Reino de Marruecos y 1 de la República de Chile, quienes ingresaron al territorio nacional sin la debida documentación y los trámites correspondientes.

Entre las personas a bordo el barco se encontraban 7 menores de edad.

Retención de una embarcación con inmigrantes ilegales

El 24 de octubre de 2020, en cumplimiento al Plan de Protección de las Fronteras Estatales, la Estrategia de Estado “Muro de Contención” y en apoyo al Protocolo ante la COVID-19 del Ministerio de Salud (MINSA), unidades de superficie del Distrito Naval Pacífico de la Fuerza Naval, en coordinación con efectivos militares del 4 Comando Militar Regional del Ejército de Nicaragua, durante servicios operativos retuvieron 1 embarcación de nombre “KEYTI VANESA 1”, con 4 tripulantes de nacionalidad nicaragüense y 23 migrantes ilegales a bordo, entre ellos 7 menores de edad, quienes ingresaron al país de manera ilegal por la vía marítima, procedentes de la República de Costa Rica, en la posición φ11º09’092” N – λ085º49’189” W. a 3 millas náuticas al noroeste de playa La Flor, municipio de San Juan del Sur, departamento de Rivas.

Los migrantes ilegales son provenientes de los siguientes países: 14 de la República de Haití, 3 de la República de Panamá, 2 de la República Federativa de Brasil, 2 del Estado de Eritrea, 1 del Reino de Marruecos y 1 de la República de Chile, quienes ingresaron al territorio nacional sin la debida documentación y los trámites correspondientes.

La tripulación, los migrantes retenidos y la embarcación, fueron entregados a las autoridades correspondientes.

Durante la retención, se emplearon 40 efectivos militares, 2 lanchas rápidas, 2 lanchas auxiliares y 1 vehículo pesado.

Army seizes boat with 23 illegal immigrants

Army personnel detained 1 boat named «KEYTI VANESA 1», with 4 Nicaraguan crew members and 23 illegal migrants on board, who entered the country illegally by sea, coming from Costa Rica.

Detention of a boat with illegal immigrants

On October 24, 2020, in compliance with the Plan for the Protection of State Borders, the State Strategy «Containment Wall» and in support of the Protocol to COVID-19 of the Ministry of Health (MINSA), surface units of the District Naval Pacífico of the Naval Force, in coordination with military personnel from the 4th Regional Military Command of the Nicaraguan Army, during operational services they detained 1 boat named «KEYTI VANESA 1», with 4 crew members of Nicaraguan nationality and 23 illegal migrants on board, among of them 7 minors, who entered the country illegally by sea, coming from the Republic of Costa Rica, at position φ11º09’092 ”N – λ085º49’189” W. 3 nautical miles northwest of Playa La Flor, municipality of San Juan del Sur, department of Rivas.

Illegal migrants come from the following countries: 14 from the Republic of Haiti, 3 from the Republic of Panama, 2 from the Federative Republic of Brazil, 2 from the State of Eritrea, 1 from the Kingdom of Morocco and 1 from the Republic of Chile , who entered the national territory without the proper documentation and the corresponding procedures.

The crew, the detained migrants and the boat were handed over to the corresponding authorities.

During the retention, 40 military personnel, 2 speedboats, 2 auxiliary boats and 1 heavy vehicle were used.
