Comunitarios huyeron a partes altas, mientras sus viviendas eran arrastradas en Prinzapolka

En las riveras del rio Prinzapolka la crecida les tomó por sorpresa, por ello muchos perdieron todas sus pertenencias y otros sus viviendas con todo lo que tenían, pero para salvar sus vidas buscaron las partes más altas para no ser alcanzados por el agua del rio Prinzapolka en el Caribe Norte  

Cantoy Lira Andrews, habitante de la comunidad de Crucitas ubicado a 8 horas de la cabecera municipal de Prinzapolka, dijo que la crecida del rio Prinzapolka se llevó el ganado y los animales domésticos como gallinas, cerdos y todas sus pertenencias, porque no les dio tiempo de sacar sus cosas debido a la repentina crecida del rio.

En las Crucetas hay sus casas que fueron arrancadas y fue llevada por el rio Prinzapolka, y la población pudo salvar sus vidas en la parte más alta de la comunidad en el lugar conocido como Yulukira, donde se pudieron salvar.

Luego con un cayuco, una pequeña embarcación de madera, logro sacar de Yulukira a su familia y llevarla hasta Alamikamba en un albergue donde fueron atendidos por malas autoridades.

Melvin López Flores poblador de Alamikamba vive a la orilla del rio Prinzapolka justo donde llegan a vender pecado los pescadores de ese municipio, es otro de los afectados por el huracán Eta, quien perdió todas sus pertenencias por que la repentida crecida del rio no le dio tiempo de sacar todo.

“De repente vino la tormenta y se creció hay nomadito el rio nosotros estábamos viendo, pero vos sabes que la obra de Dios nadie lo puede parar, nosotros nos preparamos sacamos una parte de la ropa la otra se la llevo el rio” cuenta López Flores.

López Flores cuenta que otras casas que están a la orilla del rio un poco más arriba de donde él vive fueron arrastradas completamente por la corriente del rio, fueron como 12 casas que se las llevo el rio, comento López Flores.

López Flores cuenta que cuando estaba la crecida del rio él intento recuperar parte de sus pertenencias que eran arrastradas por las corrientes del rio, por eso se lanzó al agua y cuando cayó de pies estaba una lámina de zinc, que le provocó una enorme herida en sus pies que ameritaron ocho puntadas en su pie izquierdo.

Historias como estas se vieron a montón en Prinzapolka donde más de 85 comunidades indígenas y mestizas sufrieron los embates del huracán Eta, en las comunidades han perdido sus plantaciones, animales domésticos, ganado y sus pertenencias.  

El Gobierno de Nicaragua llego a auxiliarlos y con una fuerte inversión en gasolina para las pangas, llevaron víveres y ayuda humanitaria a las comunidades afectadas por el huracán, esta semana llego un equipo de la Cruz Roja con kit de higiene y paquetes alimenticios para unas 1500 familias y se han entregado en las comunidades.

In Las Crucetas there are their houses that were uprooted and was carried by the Prinzapolka River, and the population was able to save their lives in the highest part of the community in the place known as Yulukira, where they could be saved.

Then with a cayuco, a small wooden boat, she managed to get her family out of Yulukira and take them to Alamikamba in a shelter where they were treated by bad authorities.

«Suddenly the storm came and it grew there is a nomadito the river we were watching, but you know that the work of God no one can stop it, we prepare ourselves we take off one part of the clothes the other the river took it» says López Flores .

López Flores says that other houses that are on the bank of the river a little higher than where he lives were completely washed away by the current of the river, they were like 12 houses that the river took away, said López Flores.

López Flores says that when the river was flooding he tried to recover part of his belongings that were washed away by the river currents, that is why he jumped into the water and when he fell on his feet there was a sheet of zinc, which caused a huge wound in his feet which required eight stitches on his left foot.

Stories like these were seen a lot in Prinzapolka where more than 85 indigenous and mestizo communities suffered the attacks of Hurricane Eta, in the communities they have lost their plantations, domestic animals, livestock and their belongings.

The Government of Nicaragua came to help them and with a strong investment in gasoline for the pangas, they brought food and humanitarian aid to the communities affected by the hurricane, this week a team from the Red Cross arrived with a hygiene kit and food packages for about 1500 families and have delivered in the communities.
