Protección y seguridad a buques mercantes y flota pesquera industrial en el mar Caribe

El Distrito Naval del Caribe realizo operaciones de protección y seguridad a dos buques mercantes en el Caribe de Nicaragua.

En la semana del 18 al 24 de diciembre de 2020, efectivos militares, unidades de superficie, capitanías de puerto y puestos de control de embarcaciones, brindaron protección y seguridad a 2 buques mercantes con 456.182 toneladas métricas de mercadería de importación y 482.887 toneladas métricas de mercadería de exportación; además, se atendió a 1 buque tanque con 525 barriles de diésel y 528 barriles de gasolina.

También, se atendieron 20 barcos de cabotaje con 312 toneladas métricas de mercadería con destino a los puertos El Bluff, Cayos Miskitos, Bluefields y Corn Island.

De igual manera, se brindó cobertura y seguridad a 102 barcos de la flota pesquera industrial, mismos que arribaron en los puertos de Corn Island y El Bluff; asimismo, se realizó 1 control a los Dispositivos Exclusores de Tortugas (TED’s), contribuyendo a la producción de 320,562 libras de producto marino entre pescado, langosta y camarón.

Durante las recepciones y despachos de estas embarcaciones, se emplearon 45 efectivos militares, 2 guardacostas, 3 lanchas rápidas y 2 lanchas auxiliares; además, los efectivos militares cumplieron con las medidas de protección orientadas por el Ministerio de Salud (MINSA), para prevenir el contagio de la COVID-19.

La Fuerza Naval como parte del Comité Nacional de Seguridad Marítimo Portuaria continúa apoyando a las instituciones involucradas para mantener el estatus de puertos seguros, brindar protección a la flota pesquera y contribuir a la economía nacional. En cumplimiento de las misiones y tareas: “Todo por la Patria”. En defensa de la Patria y la Institución: ¡Firmeza y Cohesión!

Protection and security of merchant ships and industrial fishing fleet in the caribbean sea

The Caribbean Naval District carried out protection and security operations on two merchant ships in the Caribbean of Nicaragua.

During the week of December 18 to 24, 2020, military personnel, surface units, port captains and vessel control posts, provided protection and security to 2 merchant ships with 456,182 metric tons of imported merchandise and 482,887 metric tons of export merchandise; in addition, 1 tanker was served with 525 barrels of diesel and 528 barrels of gasoline.

Also, 20 cabotage ships with 312 metric tons of merchandise were attended to the ports of El Bluff, Miskitos Cays, Bluefields and Corn Island.

Similarly, cover and security were provided to 102 ships of the industrial fishing fleet, which arrived in the ports of Corn Island and El Bluff; Likewise, 1 control was carried out on the Turtle Exclusion Devices (TED’s), contributing to the production of 320,562 pounds of marine product including fish, lobster and shrimp.

During the receptions and dispatches of these vessels, 45 military personnel, 2 coast guards, 3 speedboats and 2 auxiliary boats were used; In addition, the military personnel complied with the protection measures directed by the Ministry of Health (MINSA), to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The Naval Force, as part of the National Committee for Maritime Port Security, continues to support the institutions involved to maintain the status of safe ports, provide protection to the fishing fleet and contribute to the national economy.
