Gobierno de Nicaragua hace un homenaje a monseñor Pablo Schmitz
El delegado presidencial para el Triángulo Minero José Luis Solórzano, acompañado de alcalde de Rosita, Bonanza, Siuna y delegados de instituciones del estado, así como la Policía Nacional y el Ejercito de Nicaragua hicieron un homenaje y entregaron reconocimiento por su labor a Monseñor Pablo Schmitz Simon, administrador Apostólico de la Diócesis de Siuna, que terminó con un almuerzo en la Casa de Cultura Mama Cheya en Siuna, Caribe Norte.
“Usted es el Obispo de toda la familia de la Costa Caribe, este homenaje a usted es un homenaje a los más de 100 años de evangelización que hemos tenido en la costa Caribe de parte de los capuchinos, han construidos escuelas, iglesias, nos han acompañado en momentos difíciles han estado en terremoto el caso de usted huracanes, que han sido devastadores para el pueblo costeños, han estado en tantas alegrías, pero en momentos difíciles” le dijo el delegado presidencial.
Solórzano detallo que algo importante de usted y monseñor David han sido fortaleza para nosotros, para el pueblo costeño por que han sido factor de unidad, unidad, entendimiento y más allá de las diferencias políticas y religiosas ustedes nos han enseñado a ser tolerante.
“Queremos reconocer ese legado al pueblo costeño y que Dios lo bendiga siempre” observo el delegado presidencial.
Otilio Duarte Herrera alcalde de Siuna hizo una remembranza de su trabajo cercano con la Iglesia Católica con monseñor Salvador Shaefler, Monseñor Pablo y otros religiosos con quien ha mantenido una relación de amistad después que paso por el seminario.
Duarte entrego una placa de reconocimiento y destaco que los católicos de Siuna y como amigo y hermano de historia que han transitado junto seguirán trabajando juntos hoy y le dijo que Siuna siempre lo espera las puertas de su casa están a la orden siempre.
El alcalde de Bonanza Alexander Alvarado Lam, dijo que han tratado de mantener su historia como hijo miskito y recordó a Monseñor David con los hijos del rio Coco, personalmente agradecer a través de usted a Gregorio Smutko con quien tuvo intercambio de opiniones en torno al origen del pueblo miskito y mayangna, paleontológicamente bien argumentado.
El alcalde destaco que con la universidad BICU en Bonanza están trabajando con un traductor miskito y en bonanza se trabaja en ese aporte.
El alcalde de Rosita Fermín Romero, recordó el peregrinar del monseñor en los años difíciles cuando fue secuestrado monseñor Salvador hacia Honduras, donde buscaba la paz, cada momento de su vida han venido trabajando por la paz desde aquellos momentos duros.
El papel que ha jugado Monseñor Pablo para unir para hacer ´puente ha sido muy importante en la Costa Caribe dijo el alcalde Romero. Aquí comenzaron las primeras escuelas por el abandono que tenía el Caribe recordó el alcalde de Rosita.
El Comisionado Mayor Marlon Sevilla Centeno jefe de la Policía Nacional dijo gracias Monseñor, recordó la emboscada que fue víctima en enero de 1990, agradeció por que las generaciones agradecen su trabajo en el Caribe.
“Departe de la jefatura nacional, departamental y cada uno de los jefes oficiales y policías le damos oficinitas gracias, usted no se va usted se queda porque es un legado de sabiduría, que Dios lo bendiga” afirmó Sevilla Centeno.
El Coronel José Román Espinoza Iglesias jefe del Batallón Ecológico del Ejercito de Nicaragua dijo que el Caribe ha sido afectado por diferentes fenómenos hoy agradecemos a monseñor a que su sabiduría la ha depositado en llevar la estabilidad y la felicidad a los habitantes de esta región.
50 años dedicados al pueblo es una gran lección y enseñanza que nos deja en las dos regiones, se nos va, pero se queda, en nombre de cada uno de los miembros del batallón ecológico le hacemos nuestros reconocimiento y felicitaciones y estará siempre con nosotros esta es su Nicaragua señalo el jefe militar.
El monseñor Pablo Schmitz recibió placas de reconocimientos y regalos departe del delegado de Gobierno José Luis Solórzano, los alcaldes Otilio Duarte, Fermín Romero, Alexander Alvarado Lam y de la jefatura del Ejército y la Policía Nacional, así como de las instituciones del Estado.
El alcalde de Bonanza le entrego un sombrero y un boldo elaborado por tuno un material que es utilizado por el pueblo originario mayangna.
Monseñor Pablo Schmitz, dijo que no esperaba ese reconocimiento y estaba muy emocionado porque no trabajo mucho para el Caribe Norte, pero expresó su agradecimiento por ese gesto del Gobierno y sus instituciones.

The mayor of Bonanza gave him a hat and a boldo made by tuno, a material that is used by the original Mayangna people.
Monsignor Pablo Schmitz said that he did not expect this recognition and was very excited because he did not work much for the North Caribbean, but he expressed his gratitude for this gesture of the Government and his institutions.
