Ejército ocupa y libera tortugas verdes en el Caribe Sur
Efectivos militares ocuparon y liberaron siete tortugas verdes, mismas que se encontraban fuera de talla, violentando las regulaciones establecidas en el plan de acción para el aprovechamiento de subsistencia de estas especies, implementado por el MARENA para las comunidades de la Costa Caribe.
Según una nota de prensa de la institución, el operativo se realizó en un sondeo de rutina en la Barra de Laguna de Perlas, Región Autónoma de la Costa Caribe Sur, a una embarcación tipo panga, con 2 tripulantes a bordo.
Posteriormente, las tortugas fueron liberadas en su hábitat natural en el Mar Caribe nicaragüense.
La Fuerza Naval del Ejército de Nicaragua tiene entre sus deberes velar por la protección, preservación del ambiente y los recursos naturales, por lo que hace un llamado a las personas vinculadas al aprovechamiento de esta especie, a respetar las regulaciones establecidas.
Army occupies and releases green turtles in the South Caribbean
Military troops seized and released seven green turtles, which were out of size, violating the regulations established in the action plan for the subsistence use of these species, implemented by MARENA for the communities of the Caribbean Coast.
According to a press release from the institution, the operation was carried out in a routine survey in the Barra de Laguna de Perlas, Autonomous Region of the South Caribbean Coast, on a panga-type boat, with 2 crew members on board.
Later, the turtles were released into their natural habitat in the Nicaraguan Caribbean Sea.
The Naval Force of the Nicaraguan Army has among its duties to ensure the protection, preservation of the environment and natural resources, for which it calls on people linked to the use of this species, to respect the established regulations.
