Siuna celebra el legado de Rubén Darío con fervor y poesía
La Universidad de la Costa Caribe Nicaragüense (URACCAN) en Siuna se convirtió en el epicentro de una emotiva celebración en honor al 158 aniversario del natalicio de Rubén Darío. Maestros en formación, estudiantes y autoridades locales se unieron para rendir homenaje al máximo exponente del modernismo hispanoamericano a través de poesía, música y actos culturales.
El auditorio Mama Cheya de URACCAN Las Minas vibró con la pasión y el talento de los futuros educadores, quienes prepararon una velada llena de significado y homenaje al Príncipe de las Letras Castellanas. La maestra Heller Beer, con voz firme y emotiva, trazó la vida y obra de Darío, resaltando sus primeros escritos y su inigualable contribución a la literatura universal.
El director del Centro Universitario Regional de URACCAN en Las Minas, Víctor Zúñiga Morales, destacó no solo la trascendencia de la figura de Rubén Darío, sino también los avances sociales y económicos que ha experimentado la región en los últimos años. Mencionó proyectos emblemáticos como la carretera a Puerto Cabezas, el puente Wawa y las inversiones en salud, subrayando que estos logros son fruto de la lucha y el esfuerzo de todo un pueblo.
Zúñiga Morales hizo hincapié en el crecimiento exponencial de la matrícula estudiantil en URACCAN, gracias a políticas educativas inclusivas y de calidad. “Este es un momento histórico para nuestra universidad y para nuestro país”, afirmó el director, resaltando el compromiso de la institución con la formación de profesionales capacitados para contribuir al desarrollo de la Costa Caribe.
La estudiante de Ciencias Sociales, Carolina Herrera, expresó su agradecimiento al Gobierno por la oportunidad de acceder a una educación superior de calidad y dio la bienvenida a todos los presentes al acto de presentación de las musas darianas, quienes con su belleza y talento interpretaron poemas del bardo nicaragüense.
La poesía sale a las calles
Al finalizar el acto oficial, estudiantes, maestros y autoridades se sumaron a una colorida y entusiasta caravana que recorrió las principales calles de Siuna. Durante el recorrido, los participantes declamaron los poemas más emblemáticos de Rubén Darío, contagiando al público con su pasión por la poesía y la cultura.
Marvin Polanco Morales, alcalde de Siuna, destacó que esta jornada dariana es solo el inicio de una serie de actividades que se extenderán hasta el 6 de febrero, fecha en que se conmemora el fallecimiento del poeta. “Rubén Darío es un orgullo para todos los nicaragüenses, y en Siuna celebramos su legado con especial fervor”, afirmó el alcalde.
Yamileth Roque Talavera, secretaria política del FSLN en el Triángulo Minero, resaltó que las celebraciones en honor a Rubén Darío se han extendido a todo el territorio, demostrando el profundo arraigo que tiene la figura del poeta en el corazón de los nicaragüenses.

The University of the Nicaraguan Caribbean Coast (URACCAN) in Siuna became the epicenter of an emotional celebration in honor of the 158th anniversary of the birth of Rubén Darío. Teachers in training, students and local authorities joined together to pay tribute to the greatest exponent of Hispanic American modernism through poetry, music and cultural events.
The Mama Cheya auditorium of URACCAN Las Minas vibrated with the passion and talent of future educators, who prepared an evening full of meaning and homage to the Prince of Castilian Letters. Teacher Heller Beer, with a firm and emotional voice, traced the life and work of Darío, highlighting his first writings and his unparalleled contribution to universal literature.
The director of the Regional University Center of URACCAN in Las Minas, Víctor Zúñiga Morales, highlighted not only the importance of the figure of Rubén Darío, but also the social and economic advances that the region has experienced in recent years. He mentioned emblematic projects such as the highway to Puerto Cabezas, the Wawa bridge and investments in health, emphasizing that these achievements are the result of the struggle and effort of an entire people.
Zúñiga Morales emphasized the exponential growth of student enrollment at URACCAN, thanks to inclusive and quality educational policies. “This is a historic moment for our university and for our country,” said the director, highlighting the institution’s commitment to the training of qualified professionals to contribute to the development of the Caribbean Coast.
The Social Sciences student, Carolina Herrera, expressed her gratitude to the Government for the opportunity to access quality higher education and welcomed all those present to the presentation of the muses of Dario, who with their beauty and talent interpreted poems by the Nicaraguan bard.
Poetry takes to the streets
At the end of the official ceremony, students, teachers and authorities joined a colorful and enthusiastic caravan that traveled through the main streets of Siuna. During the tour, the participants recited Rubén Darío’s most emblematic poems, infecting the public with their passion for poetry and culture.
Marvin Polanco Morales, mayor of Siuna, stressed that this day in Siuna is only the beginning of a series of activities that will extend until February 6, the date on which the poet’s death is commemorated. “Rubén Darío is a pride for all Nicaraguans, and in Siuna we celebrate his legacy with special fervor,” said the mayor.
Yamileth Roque Talavera, political secretary of the FSLN in the Mining Triangle, stressed that the celebrations in honor of Rubén Darío have spread throughout the territory, demonstrating the deep roots that the figure of the poet has in the hearts of Nicaraguans.
