Caribe Norte dos veces líder del concurso nacional sabores de cuaresma en Siuna
Fabiana Marisol Bans Thompson representante a la Región Autónoma de la Costa Caribe Norte, con el platillo sopa de mariscos ahumada, fue seleccionada por un jurado calificador como la ganadora de la doceava edición del concurso nacional sabores de cuaresma realizado en Siuna, Región Autónoma de la Costa Caribe Norte y merecedora del premio de 40,000.00.
El segundo lugar fue para la representación de Rio San Juan Blanca Estela Fletes Ruiz, con el platillo vaho de Robalo y acreedora del segundo premio que consistió en 30,000 córdobas y obsequios de los patrocinadores del evento.
El Tercer lugar fue para la María de los Ángeles Vargas Mallorquín representante de Granada con su platillo arroz con Gaspar, que la hizo acreedora del tercer premio de 20,000.00 córdobas y regalos de los patrocinadores.
La competencia comenzó a las 2:00 pm de la tarde de este sábado 27 de marzo, con la presencia de las autoridades del Instituto Nicaragüense de Turismo, Gobierno municipal de Siuna e instituciones del Gobierno de Nicaragua.
Pero desde las 10:00 am la plaza Carlos Fonseca de Siuna estaba abarrotada de artesanos de todo el país que llegaron a Siuna a ofrecer sus productos elaborados por manos nicaragüenses, desde artesanías, calzado nacional, ropa, medicamentos naturales como el giffiti un producto elaborado a base de plantas medicinales y que fue usado por los ancestros del pueblo garífuna de la Costa Caribe Sur de Nicaragua.
Los 19 concursantes del todo el país recibieron un certificado de participación en el concurso nacional de sabores de cuaresma, que promueve las tradiciones culturales y la gastronómica nacional en cada municipio donde se realiza.
José Luis Solorzano delegado presidencial del triangulo minero dijo que fue todo un éxito el festival nacional sabores de cuaresma, las familias han disfrutado a lo grande este evento protagonizado por el Gobierno de Nicaragua.
“Ha sido un día especial un día histórico porque han legado las delegaciones de todo el país mostrando las riquezas que tiene Nicaragua, pero además esta tarde maravillosa se ha podido disfrutar de una tarde cultural, con las escuelas de danza de los diferentes municipios de la región” afirmo Solorsano.
El alcalde de Siuna Otilio Duarte Herrera dijo que las familias de Siuna pudieron disfrutar el máximo del festival nacional pero además por la feria nacional donde estuvieron todos los artesanos de Nicaragua.
Natasha Campbell, codirectora del Instituto Nicaragüense de Turismo INTUR, dijo que este es un evento lleno de mucha cultura de mucha alegría y tradiciones donde el buen gobierno sigue restituyendo el derecho a la recreación sana y el rescate de las tradiciones y se hace en articulación con las instituciones del Gobierno de nicaragua y las alcaldías municipales de todo el país.
El festival nacional de cuaresma promovió la economía local en Siuna, y es uno de los principales objetivo del Gobierno y las carreteras permitieron que todos los departamentos del país pudieran llegar por tierra a Siuna.

Fabiana Marisol Bans Thompson representing the Autonomous Region of the North Caribbean Coast, with the smoked seafood soup dish, was selected by a qualifying jury as the winner of the twelfth edition of the national contest flavors of Lent held in Siuna, Autonomous Region of the North Caribbean Coast and worthy of the award of 40,000.00.
The second place went to the representation of Rio San Juan Blanca Estela Fletes Ruiz, with the Robalo steam dish and the second prize that consisted of 30,000 cordobas and gifts from the sponsors of the event.
Third place went to María de los Ángeles Vargas Mallorquín representative of Granada with her dish arroz con Gaspar, which won her the third prize of 20,000.00 cordobas and gifts from the sponsors.
The competition began at 2:00 pm on the afternoon of this Saturday, March 27, with the presence of the authorities of the Nicaraguan Institute of Tourism, the municipal government of Siuna and institutions of the Government of Nicaragua.
But since 10:00 am, the Carlos Fonseca square in Siuna was packed with artisans from all over the country who came to Siuna to offer their products made by Nicaraguan hands, from handicrafts, national footwear, clothing, natural medicines such as giffiti, a manufactured product based on medicinal plants and that was used by the ancestors of the Garífuna people of the South Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua.
The 19 contestants from all over the country received a certificate of participation in the national contest of flavors of Lent, which promotes cultural traditions and national gastronomy in each municipality where it takes place.
José Luis Solorzano presidential delegate of the mining triangle said that the national festival flavors of lent was a success, families have greatly enjoyed this event led by the Government of Nicaragua.
“It has been a special day, a historic day because the delegations from all over the country have bequeathed showing the riches that Nicaragua has, but this wonderful afternoon has also been able to enjoy a cultural afternoon, with the dance schools of the different municipalities of the region ”affirmed Solorsano.
Siuna Mayor Otilio Duarte Herrera said that Siuna families were able to enjoy the national festival as much as possible, but also because of the national fair where all the Nicaraguan artisans were present.
Natasha Campbell, co-director of the Nicaraguan Institute of Tourism INTUR, said that this is an event full of a lot of culture of great joy and traditions where good government continues to restore the right to healthy recreation and the rescue of traditions and is done in conjunction with the institutions of the Government of Nicaragua and the municipal mayors of the entire country.
The national festival of Lent promoted the local economy in Siuna, and is one of the main objectives of the Government and the roads allowed all the departments of the country to reach Siuna by land.
