Con una millonaria inversiรณn superior a los 6 millones de cรณrdobas, el municipio de Waspam tiene agua potable gracias al proyecto que fue inaugurado por las autoridades polรญticas y gubernamentales departamentales, autoridades municipales y nacionales, que viene a resolver el problema del agua potables a mรกs de 8 mil familias del รกrea urbana de Waspam en el Caribe Norte.
El proyecto que fue inaugurado hoy cuenta con un dique, un pozo hรบmedo, una caseta de controles, una planta de tratamiento, dos tanques de almacenamiento, 935 conexiones realizadas, aproximadamente 32, 463.18 metros de tuberรญas que beneficia a 7,591 habitantes de los diferentes barrios de Waspam.
Los pobladores de Waspam sufrรญan en cada verano pues el agua de los pozos se secaba y tenรญan que caminar grandes distancias para obtener el agua, algunos viajaban hasta los pequeรฑos rรญos que tienen fuentes de agua cristalinas, como Trintara y otro rio que hay hacia los llanos del municipio de Waspam.
Carlos Alemรกn coordinador del Gobierno Regional destaco la importancia que tiene este proyecto para las familias miskitas del Wanky, por lo que agradeciรณ al Gobierno de Nicaragua por ese proyecto que lleva el vital lรญquido a las familias del Wanky.
La alcaldesa de Waspam Rose Cuningham mostrรณ su satisfacciรณn con la inauguraciรณn del proyecto de agua porque uno de los problemas principales de ese gobierno era precisamente resolver el problema del agua de sus habitantes y con el Gobierno Central y regional se logrรณ ejecutar el proyecto y resolver este problema para los habitantes del Wanky.
โMe siento muy contenta porque tenemos un Gobierno Nacional que se preocupa porque la poblaciรณn tenga acceso a agua y a agua de calidad porque el agua es tratada y viene tambiรฉn a resolver muchos problemas que generaba el consumo de agua no tratada en la ciudadโ comento Cuningham.
Al acto inaugural tambiรฉn asistieron las autoridades municipales de Bonanza Alexander Alvarado, de Rosita Fermin Romero, de Siuna Otilio Duarte y los polรญticos departamentales Josรฉ Luis Solรณrzano y Yuri Zapata Web, asรญ como el coordinador del Gobierno Regional master Carlos Alemรกn Cuningham.
Waspam already has drinking water

Carlos Alemรกn, coordinator of the Regional Government, highlighted the importance of this project for the Miskito families of the Wanky, for which he thanked the Government of Nicaragua for this project that brings vital liquid to the Wanky families.
