Indigenous people do not accept burying their dead for COVID 19

The indigenous communities of the Caribbean Coast by culture must watch and do all the ritual to dismiss their loved ones, something that with the protocol of the Ministry of Health for the management of the COVID 19 pandemic is not possible, which endangers the contagion of the whole family, this is what the prominent coastal writer and historian Dr. Andrés Avelino Cox Molina said in an interview with the Caribbean News System.

The cultural issue is difficult to change overnight and in this sense I call the pastors of the different religions to unite so that they can explain to the indigenous population about the danger of not burying a person sick with COVID 19.

Indigenous populations have already had experiences of pandemics such as crackpot cough, in the 1930s where traditional doctors went into the mountains to hunt mice and then they took the population with chicken oil and cusuco oil and with this they managed heal their peoples.

Today this pandemic catches us off guard and one of the challenges indigenous communities have to face is accepting that the dead must be buried immediately.

In Bilwi, a family snatched the body from the police when they are executing the burial by protocol applied by the health authorities and took the body to their home, opened it and kept them awake, today that family is infected with the coronavirus, the coastal historian said.

Dr. Cox Molina, in an extensive interview with the Caribbean News System, addressed this issue and how religious can help create awareness among the indigenous population to prevent communities from being devastated by contagion in a situation where they do not accept burying his relatives and intend to veil and bury him with his culture and tradition

  1. Troubleshoot the causes and find the ways to wet basement walls : the sooner, the better, to maintain the exact integrity of your home.

Because they are definately built below grade, cellars. tend to take on water. You could possibly notice moist basement wall space from time to time, water puddles every now and then, or-worst case scenario-flooding throughout the rainy season. Humid, wet, or downright wet basements can result in peeling paint, mold and mildew growth, rotted wood, as well as damage to stored items.

Although builders take steps to leak-proof basements during construction, after a while a house can settle, getting cracks in the basement wall surface area. When the soil outside can be saturated, water can drain through these cracks. Perhaps structurally sound basement materials can absorb water from your soil and transfer this specific to the basement interior, the walls feel wet. As being the water from the walls evaporates, the air in the basement obtains more humid. A high-quality dehumidifier will help remove excess basement humidity, but the best long-term solution is to water-proof the walls.

Depending on the reason for the actual moisture problem, the right could be a simple do-it-yourself treat, or it could require the aid of a foundation contractor. Should you be looking at waterproofing basement dividers, the following tips will get you commenced on the right foot.

CARRY OUT determine the source of the seas.

Because concrete is porous, you can often see condensed streaks that let you know the place that the water is coming in. Seek out streaks along cracks, with all the corners of windows, including mortar joints (for real block walls), and close to pipes where they enter or exit, such as a water-supply line or a sewer h2o line.

If entire wall surfaces are wet, however , you might need to do further sleuthing. Each day conduct a simple condensation try, dry an area of the divider with a rag and then bring a one-foot square part of aluminum foil to the wall structure structure with duct tape. Quicken rather quickly the foil after one day and check how the base of the foil feels. When it is wet, water is dripping through the wall from the outside. If dry, the moisture is certainly originating elsewhere in the cellar, most likely from a basement shower-easily remedied by installing any vent fan in the bathroom to direct steam outdoor.

DON’T make wall changes with standing water in the basement.

During a rainy 12 months, a crack in a cellars . wall can allow an in . or two of water in, but before you seek to bring back the crack, remove every one of the water from the floor. Employed in a flooding basement heightens the risk of electrical shock or even electrocution. Turn off the power into the basement, and then use a energy pump (with extension cords that reaches an upstairs outlet) to get rid of the water. The h2o pump will discharge the water into your surface of your yard using a garden hose. When the basement will be water-free, proceed with examining, fixing, and effectively waterproofing the basement walls.

ACCOMPLISH fill cracks with hydraulic cement.

Another area in which cracks are commonly found is in the bottom of the basement wall surfaces. When a foundation is attempt to, its footing-a wide degree base made from concrete together with reinforced steel, designed to help the walls-is poured 1st, and then the walls are placed into on top after footings coast up. Although this is standard framework procedure, it can create what on earth is known as a “cold joint, ” a weak spot from the foundation between the wall and the footing where cracks produce with the shifting and making a decision of a foundation, along with selection of ankle pressure from the soil.

Fortunately, sealing cracks is a simple and easy DIY task that involves filling them with hydraulic cement. Hydraulic cement-which contains additives whereby cause the cement that you should expand and set rapidly-is mixed with water to a heavy putty consistency and then pressed directly into cracks with gloved hands or with a putty gadget (follow mixing and software directions). As hydraulic basic cement expands, it pushes powerful into cracks and crevices to form a watertight connect. Mix only as much as you can use within three minutes, though, because that’s how quickly the item begins to set.

DON’T pass up to address window well drinking water leaks.

Window wells are a widespread source of basement wall drinking water leaks because they tend to retain water supply if a proper drainage course of action wasn’t installed beneath the properly when the house was constructed. This can lead to water group around the bottom of a cellar window and then seeping inside.

While it’s difficult to make use of a window well drainage method after the fact, consider rooting approximately two feet reduced the well area, and also filling the space with teeny rocks to help rainwater disperse as opposed to collect in the window basically. Then, caulk around the windowpane with a caulk suitable for make use of on masonry. In addition , build a sloped window well include things like over the window well as a way to direct rainwater away.

CARRY OUT apply a masonry waterproofing product to bare interior downstairs room walls.

If your foil assess showed that water are going to be soaking through your basement canton and leaving them damp, seal the interior of the wall surface area with a high-quality waterproof color. This type of sealant comes premixed and goes on just like a cover of paint. When basement waterproofing basement walls with it, make sure to brush or roll the shade on thickly enough to help you fill all the little outdoor holes, then allow it to dried up fully before a second heavyweight coat is applied. When absolutely dry, the sealant sorts a watertight bond to possess any more moisture from seeping through. A five-gallon gift basket treats approximately 500 sq . feet of wall.

Top Means of Waterproofing Basement Walls

DON’T apply sealer over furnished walls or efflorescence.

If you or a previous owner displayed the basement walls, you are going to have to remove the paint before applying sealer, which only adheres well to bare brickwork. It’s common to find a lot of coats of paint in older qualities, which is best removed with a sandblaster by pros called blasting contractors. Alternately, clearly removed by wire cleaning, a tedious but reasonably priced DIY task.

It’s additionally necessary to remove efflorescence-white build up that form on the surface associated with concrete walls subject to continual moisture-before applying sealer; do this with muriatic acid (follow the manufacturer’s instructions).

DO take steps to keep water not even close your basement.

Sometimes, the right formula to wet basement surfaces is easy. For instance, remove research plantings, such as bushes along with flowerbeds that require watering, which will subsequently allows water to assist seep into the basement. Furthermore inspect and, if essential, repair guttering and spickets to ensure that they’re directing ingesting water away from your home. It’s also a smartest decision to grade your backyard away from the foundation-at bare minimum a two percent pile.

In addition to the above steps, examine having an exterior depletion tile system installed. It is just a last-ditch effort because it is quite pricey, easily running $12, 000 or more. It requires excavating the soil from in the outside of your basement each day install a perforated drain at the footing level. A waterproof écorce is often installed on the outside of usually the basement wall, and the method also requires putting in any buried sump pump wheresoever water will collect and be pumped to the outdoor. This is strictly a job for your foundation contractor, but it may greatly reduce basement water issues.

    DON’T forget interior drainage solutions.

Another method of las vegas dui attorney dry basement walls would be to install a drainage channel from the floor inside the basement. The particular drain is similar to the exterior destruction tile described above, however it’s located just within the basement walls; then, new walls are built on the inside of bare so the original basement partitioning are not visible. This is an extra job for a foundation specialist, at a minimum cost of around $5, 000. When it’s finished, you’ll have new, dried up walls, and any surplus water that seeps while using old basement walls could be directed to the drain stop and pumped away.
