Buscan al polluelo del águila harpía, en Bosawás
Un equipo del Ministerio del Ambiente y los Recursos Naturales MARENA que se dirigió al parque nacional cerro Saslaya para fotografía y hacer videos con drone a la madre del polluelo del águila harpía, no tuvieron éxito ya que el polluelo que fue fotografiado el 25 de abril por José Luis Rojas Centeno ingeniero agroforestal graduado de URACCAN, se movió del nido donde había sido encontrado.
José Luis Rojas Centeno, conocido en Siuna como pajarito por sus investigaciones con aves, dijo que los productores del área informaron a las autoridades del Marena que habían visto un nido de águila harpía y por eso se dirigió con guardabosques hasta el parque nacional cerro Saslaya el pasado 25 de abril y fue allí donde logro hacer las fotos del polluelo.
El investigador dijo que el polluelo fue encontrado en un árbol de Ceiba de unos 60 metros de altura y el área donde fue encontrado es en un bosque primario no intervenido donde ha encontrado presencia de aves migratorias y aves que solo existen en los bosques primarios.
José Luis Rojas Centeno, se dedico a investigar las aves al finalizar su carrera de ingeniero agroforestal, su monografía fue una investigación de avistamiento de aves y de allí nació su pasión por las aves, desde entonces se ha dedicado a estudiar e investigar la existencia de aves en la región.
“En la región también he reportado especies que muy poco se ve como el grass wren o cistothorus platensis, que solo se encuentra en las áreas de sabana como en Prinzapolka, también tenemos la cara cara avispero o chupa cacao como lo conocen los lugareños y ahora que se logró constatar la presencia del polluelo del águila harpía con un nuevo reporte” afirmo el investigador.
El equipo del MARENA del cual también fue parte el investigador siuneño José Luis Rojas, llevaba también un drone, con el cual se pretendía determinar si había más huevos del águila harpía, pero no se encontró nada, solo se escucho a la madre del polluelo cantar, pero tampoco se pudo ver.

The researcher said that the chick was found in a Ceiba tree about 60 meters high and the area where it was found is in an undisturbed primary forest where it has found the presence of migratory birds and birds that only exist in primary forests.
José Luis Rojas Centeno, dedicated himself to researching birds at the end of his career as an agroforestry engineer, his monograph was an investigation of bird watching and from there his passion for birds was born, since then he has dedicated himself to studying and investigating the existence of birds in the region.
“In the region I have also reported species that are rarely seen, such as the grass wren or cistothorus platensis, which is only found in savannah areas such as Prinzapolka, we also have the wasp nest face or cocoa sucker as the locals know it and now that it was possible to verify the presence of the harpy eagle chick with a new report” affirmed the researcher.
The MARENA team, which was also part of the researcher from Siuna, José Luis Rojas, also carried a drone, with which it was intended to determine if there were more harpy eagle eggs, but nothing was found, only the mother of the chick was heard singing. but couldn’t see it either.
