UNICEF brinda asistencia humanitaria a doce mil costeños en el Caribe Norte
Un total de 12 mil personas del Caribe Norte han sido beneficiados con asistencia humanitaria de parte de UNICEF y su socio GVC, con fondos del Gobierno de Japón.
De acuerdo a UNICEF, se ha apoyado a familias de 40 comunidades en los municipios de Waspam, Bilwi, Prinzapolka, Rosita y Siuna, en conjunto con el Gobierno Regional Autónomo de la Costa Caribe Norte.
La información detalla que han entregado 16 tanques de agua a igual cantidad de escuelas albergues con capacidad para 5,000 personas; 700 personas fueron apoyadas con kits de higiene en los albergues que estuvieron en Bilwi, después del paso de Eta e Iota; 500 tienen acceso a 16 estructuras de lavado de mano en cuatro escuelas.
También se ha realizado actividades de promoción de higiene para promover nuevos hábitos para promover cambios de comportamientos y preservar la salud en las comunidades.
Recientemente la señora Nagisa Takahashi, Tercera Secretaria de la Embajada de Japón ante Nicaragua, y Antero de Pina, Representante de UNICEF Nicaragua visitaron Wountha, ubicado en el litoral sur de la Costa Caribe Norte.

A total of 12 thousand people from the Northern Caribbean have been benefited with humanitarian assistance from UNICEF and its partner GVC, with funds from the Government of Japan.
According to UNICEF, families from 40 communities in the municipalities of Waspam, Bilwi, Prinzapolka, Rosita and Siuna have been supported, in conjunction with the Autonomous Regional Government of the North Caribbean Coast.
The information details that 16 water tanks have been delivered to the same number of school shelters with capacity for 5,000 people; 700 people were supported with hygiene kits in the shelters that were in Bilwi, after the passage of Eta and Iota; 500 have access to 16 hand washing facilities in four schools.
Hygiene promotion activities have also been carried out to promote new habits to promote behavioral changes and preserve health in the communities.
