Distrito Naval del Caribe brinda protección y seguridad en el mar Caribe
Dos buques mercantes fueron atendidos por efectivos militares y unidades de superficie del Distrito Naval del Caribe y brindaron seguridad a la flota pesquera nacional que se encuentra en faenas de pesca en el mar caribe.
Lo anterior fue dado a conocer por el Distrito Naval del Caribe en una nota de prensa.
Del 9 al 15 de octubre de 2020, efectivos militares, unidades de superficie, capitanías de puerto y puestos de control de embarcaciones del Distrito Naval Caribe de la Fuerza Naval del Ejército de Nicaragua, brindaron protección y seguridad a 2 buques mercantes con 723.043 toneladas métricas de mercadería de importación y 343.453 toneladas métricas de mercadería de exportación; además, se atendieron a 2 buques-tanque con 2,909 barriles de diésel, 381 barriles de gasolina y 2,909 barriles de búnker.
Las autoridades del DNC informaron que se atendieron 25 barcos de cabotaje con 805.07 toneladas métricas de mercadería con destino a los puertos El Bluff, Cayos Miskitos, Bluefields y Corn Island.
De igual manera, se brindó cobertura y seguridad a 97 barcos de la flota pesquera industrial y se realizaron 2 controles a los Dispositivos Exclusores de Tortugas (TED’s), contribuyendo a la producción de 164,502 libras de producto marino entre pescado, langosta y camarón.
Durante las recepciones y despachos de estas embarcaciones, se emplearon 30 efectivos militares, 2 guardacostas, 3 lanchas rápidas y 2 lanchas auxiliares. Asimismo, los efectivos militares cumplieron con las medidas de protección orientadas por el Ministerio de Salud (MINSA), para prevenir el contagio de la COVID-19.
La Fuerza Naval como parte del Comité Nacional de Seguridad Marítimo Portuaria, continúa apoyando a las instituciones involucradas para mantener el estatus de puertos.

Two merchant vessels were served by military personnel and surface units of the Caribbean Naval District and provided security to the national fishing fleet that is fishing in the Caribbean Sea.

From October 9 to 15, 2020, military personnel, surface units, port captains and vessel control posts of the Caribbean Naval District of the Nicaraguan Army Naval Force, provided protection and security to 2 merchant ships with 723,043 metric tons of imported merchandise and 343,453 metric tons of export merchandise; in addition, 2 tankers were served with 2,909 barrels of diesel, 381 barrels of gasoline and 2,909 barrels of bunker.
DNC authorities reported that 25 cabotage vessels were attended with 805.07 metric tons of merchandise bound for the ports of El Bluff, Miskitos Cays, Bluefields and Corn Island.
Similarly, coverage and security were provided to 97 vessels of the industrial fishing fleet and 2 controls were carried out on the Turtle Exclusion Devices (TED’s), contributing to the production of 164,502 pounds of marine product including fish, lobster and shrimp.
During the receptions and dispatches of these boats, 30 military personnel, 2 coastguards, 3 speedboats and 2 auxiliary boats were used. Likewise, the military personnel complied with the protection measures directed by the Ministry of Health (MINSA), to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The Naval Force, as part of the National Committee for Maritime Port Security, continues to support the institutions involved to maintain the status of ports
