Catástrofe en el Caribe de Nicaragua por ETA e IOTA

No tengo otra palabra que utilizar mas de catástrofe la que estamos  viviendo en el Caribe Norte y Sur, principalmente las zonas de impacto del potente huracán IOTA que terminó de hundir a las comunidades indígenas asentadas en la zona costera del Caribe Norte y el Caribe Sur de Nicaragua.

La magnitud del daño es tan inmenso que no puedo describir a ciencia cierta los efectos del IOTA, en la producción, en las viviendas, en la infraestructura, en las familias, en los hombres y mujeres que aun están sufriendo en sus comunidades que no han podido salir por que aún hay árboles caídos.

Este es un momento de unidad de la familia costeña, no es el momento de seguir señalándonos por ninguna razón, hoy es el momento de unirnos todos y seguir el proceso de reconstrucción y sacar las pocas fuerzas que nos quedan después del impacto devastador del IOTA.

Las fuerzas que hoy nos dejó este huracán la tenemos que usar para sacar adelante nuestras familias, para demostrar nuestra solidaridad con aquellos que lo perdieron todo porque milagrosamente hay algunas viviendas que quedaron en pie, otras simplemente fueron arrancadas y lanzadas con furia al más allá.

La tarea de asistencia humanitaria que ha emprendido el Gobierno es enorme, los funcionarios están trabajando 24/7 y el cansancio también se apodera de ellos, desde la presidencia han enviado equipos especiales para la evaluación de los daños, hay atención con alimentos en los albergues, donde aún hay miles de familias recibiendo alimentos, atención médica, y psicosocial.

Prinzapolka mantiene bajo agua comunidades enteras, nada ha quedaron de las plantaciones de los indígenas miskitos que viven en las riveras del Prinzu Awala y Auhya Un.

En similar condiciones están las comunidades miskitas asentadas en las riveras del Rios Coco o Wangki, bajo agua, perdida de plantaciones, viviendas, arrastradas por las corrientes.

Comunidades mestizas golpeadas por los cuatro costados en Bonanza, Rosita, Bonanza y Siuna, hoy Rosita y Bonanza estan sin energía eléctrica, en Siuna apenas un sector tiene energía, donde hay daños en los postes y tendido eléctrico aun siguen sin energía eléctrica.

En el recorrido del ojo del huracán tras tocar tierra dejó arboles caídos, casas destruidas, producción destruida y muchas familias están hoy sin techo esperan la distribución del zinc para cubrirse de la lluvia.

Otros que tienen ciertos recursos económicos han invertido en la compra de zinc, clavos y han puesto el techo para pasar con su familia, pero muchos siguen a la intemperie.

En mi vida había visto tanta destrucción como lo que dejo IOTA a su paso, solo quiero recordar las 10 horas de la noche de terror que vivimos todos los caribeños que fuimos víctimas de la brutal y descomunal sacudida que nos dieron lo vientos destructores del IOTA.

La asistencia humanitaria del Gobierno de Nicaragua también es una realidad, la prevención, la preparación para evacuar en tiempo y forma alas comunidades que estaban ´previstos para el impacto y de allí de no tener un solo muerto en la zona del impacto en el Caribe de Nicaragua, es un gran éxito para todos.

Toca tener paciencia porque la ayuda está fluyendo poco a poco, se tiene que hacer una entrega ordenada para evitar que queden familias sin atender con el plan techo que en este momento es primordial para que las familias puedan cubrirse de la lluvia.
