BECO y MARENA rescatan un jaguar en Mulukuku cuando pretendían transportarlo y comercializarlo en el pacifico
El Batallón Ecológico y el Ministerio de Recursos Naturales y el Medio Ambiente lograron rescatar un jaguar hembra que se dirigía para ser comercializado hacia el pacifico de Nicaragua y fue retenido en Mulukuku, Región Autónoma de la Costa Caribe Norte.
Lo anterior fue explicado por Omar Soza funcionario del Marena en Siuna, quien señalo que el espécimen esta en peligro de extinción y su transporte y comercialización están prohibidos.
La captura del jaguar se dio este martes 10 de noviembre en el puesto de control y fauna del Batallón Ecológico Bosawás en Mulukuku-
Sosa explico que en horas de la madrugada del día miércoles 10 de noviembre del 2021, a las 2:45 AM, fue rescatada de manos de traficantes de fauna silvestre un espécimen Jaguar hembra (Panthera onca) en etapa lactante, en buenas condiciones físicas y sin golpes.
El funcionario del Marena dijo que esta especie está en peligro de extinción, CITES I, VEDA: Veda Nacional Indefinida; la intención de los traficantes era venderla en el pacífico del país, pero gracias a la intervención del Batallón Ecológico, se le acabaron los planes.
Actualmente se encuentra en cuido, alimentación satisfactoria de sus necesidades de sobrevivencia en mano de especialistas, para posteriormente ser liberado en su habitación natural.
Cabe mencionar que dentro de las medidas de conservación que promueve el Buen Gobierno atraves del MARENA a nivel nacional la especie fue evaluada en la Lista Roja de alto riesgo de 2013 como en Peligro Crítico (CICFA,2013), se incluye en el reglamento de vedas con veda indefinida (MARENA, 2016); de manera que para esta especie se prohíbe por tiempo indefinido la captura, cacería, comercialización y transporte de especímenes vivos y sub productos.
Las autoridades del Batallón Ecológico Bosawás y el Marena, vienen desarrollando acciones de protección y conservación de la flora y fauna en la Costa Caribe de Nicaragua.

Sosa explained that in the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at 2:45 AM, a female Jaguar specimen (Panthera onca) was rescued from the hands of wildlife traffickers in a nursing stage, in good physical condition and no bumps.
The Marena official said that this species is in danger of extinction, CITES I, VEDA: Indefinite National Ban; the traffickers’ intention was to sell it in the country’s Pacific, but thanks to the intervention of the Ecological Battalion, their plans ran out.
He is currently in care, satisfactory feeding of his survival needs in the hands of specialists, to later be released in his natural habitat.
It is worth mentioning that within the conservation measures promoted by Good Governance through MARENA at the national level, the species was evaluated on the High Risk Red List of 2013 as Critically Endangered (CICFA, 2013), it is included in the regulation of closures with indefinite closure (MARENA, 2016); so that for this species the capture, hunting, commercialization and transport of live specimens and by-products is prohibited indefinitely.
The authorities of the Bosawás Ecological Battalion and the Marena have been developing actions for the protection and conservation of flora and fauna on the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua.
