Ejército de Nicaragua y Honduras se reunen para evaluar operación Sandino – Morazán
Los jefes de los ejércitos de Honduras y Nicaragua evaluaron este viernes los resultados de la fase 16 de la operación conjunta denominada Sandino Morazán que se realiza desde hace varios años.
Una nota de prensa del Ejército de Nicaragua reporta que el jefe del Ejército de Nicaragua, General Julio Avilés y el Jefe del Estado Mayor Conjunto de las Fuerzas Armadas de Honduras, General Tito Livio Moreno Coello, sostuvieron un encuentro en Managua “con el objetivo de continuar ampliando y fortaleciendo las excelentes relaciones de cooperación entre ambas instituciones militares”.
La nota informa que como resultado de esta fase, 73 delincuentes fueron detenidos, entre ellos 62 nicaragüenses y una pista de aterrizaje fue inhabilitada.
El Comandante en Jefe del Ejército de Nicaragua, señaló: «hemos logrado consolidar durante varios años lo que es la operación Sandino-Morazán, aquí estaremos evaluando la Décimo Sexta Fase de la Sandino-Morazán…de tal manera que, además de darles la bienvenida queremos reiterarles nuestra firme disposición de trabajar siempre como hermanos centroamericanos, como hermanos de fuerzas armadas en función del bienestar de nuestros países y el bienestar de nuestro pueblo, sean bienvenidos».
El Jefe del Estado Mayor Conjunto de las Fuerzas Armadas de Honduras, destacó: «…agradecerles siempre este recibimiento tan cálido, tan hermanado, nos hace sentir como en tu propia casa cada vez que venimos acá…que aunque muchos creen que estamos solo para conflictos bélicos y otras cosas, es al contrario, creo que somos los referentes para mantener esa hermandad, poder entendernos y poder salir adelante y buscar el desarrollo de nuestros países, el bienestar de nuestros pueblos y creo que estas últimas operaciones que hemos estado realizando, estos últimos encuentros han servido para eso, para fortalecer estos lazos de amistad y hermandad como he manifestado».
