Nicaragua recibe primer lote de vacunas AstraZeneca a través de mecanismo Covax
n total de 36 mil 480 dosis de vacuna contra el Covid-19 recibieron este viernes las autoridades del Ministerio de Salud y representantes de la Organización Panamericana de la Salud en Nicaragua.
La doctora Martha Reyes, titular del MINSA, afirmó que este nuevo lote vendrá a fortalecer la jornada de vacunación voluntaria dirigida a personas mayores de 50 años.
Explicó que se trata de una donación del Gobierno de Noruega a través de Suecia, y que llega al país por medio del Mecanismo COVAX.
“Es muy importante que hemos estado haciendo un esfuerzo conjunto con OPS y el Mecanismo COVAX para tener todos los aspectos preparados para poder recibir cualquiera de las vacunas que están ya aprobadas por la OMS y eso implica también tener la cadena de fríos correspondientes para cualquiera de las vacunas que estén disponibles”, declaró la funcionaria.
Nicaragua receives first batch of AstraZeneca vaccines through Covax mechanism
A total of 36 thousand 480 doses of vaccine against Covid-19 received this Friday the authorities of the Ministry of Health and representatives of the Pan American Health Organization in Nicaragua.
Dr. Martha Reyes, head of MINSA, affirmed that this new batch will strengthen the voluntary vaccination day for people over 50 years of age.
She explained that it is a donation from the Government of Norway through Sweden, and that it reaches the country through the COVAX Mechanism.
“It is very important that we have been making a joint effort with PAHO and the COVAX Mechanism to have all aspects prepared to be able to receive any of the vaccines that are already approved by the WHO and that also implies having the corresponding cold chain for any of the vaccines that are available ”, declared the official.
