Aprueban financiamiento para atender daños provocados por huracanes
El plenario de la Asamblea Nacional aprobó este martes un convenio de financiamiento entre Nicaragua y el Banco Mundial por el orden de los 80 millones de dólares, para dar respuesta a la emergencia frente a los huracanes Eta y Iota que afectaron al país en noviembre 2020.
El proyecto de financiamiento tiene como objetivo apoyar la respuesta en la emergencia de Nicaragua en el restablecimiento de los servicios sociales y económicos de la Costa Caribe.
Se implementará en 3 componentes, rehabilitación, recuperación y reconstrucción resiliente, apoyar la rehabilitación y reconstrucción de infraestructura crítica seleccionada y la rehabilitación y reconstrucción de viviendas seleccionadas e infraestructura social comunitaria.
La iniciativa fue enviada con carácter de urgencia por la Presidencia de la República, y fue aprobada con 76 votos a favor.
Financing approved to deal with damage caused by hurricanes
The plenary of the National Assembly approved on Tuesday a financing agreement between Nicaragua and the World Bank for the order of 80 million dollars, to respond to the emergency against hurricanes Eta and Iota that affected the country in November 2020.
The financing project aims to support the response in the Nicaraguan emergency in the reestablishment of social and economic services on the Caribbean Coast.
It will be implemented in 3 components, rehabilitation, recovery and resilient reconstruction, supporting the rehabilitation and reconstruction of selected critical infrastructure and the rehabilitation and reconstruction of selected homes and community social infrastructure.
The initiative was sent urgently by the Presidency of the Republic, and was approved with 76 votes in favor.
