Universidad en el campo llegó a la capital Mayangna en el corazón de la reserva Bosawas

Mas de 60 estudiantes del pueblo originario Mayangna, iniciaron sus estudios universitarios en Musawas, capital del pueblo Mayangna, donde el Gobierno de Nicaragua por medio de la Universidad URACCAN del Consejo Nacional de Universidades, por medio de la Universidad en el Campo, una estrategia gubernamental que tiene el objetivo de llevar la Educación Superior a los lugares mas alejados del país.

Musawas, es la capital del pueblo indígena mayangna, y está ubicado en el municipio de Bonanza, este es el primer territorio indígena mayangna, Mayangna Sauni Bas, por ello la universidad URACCAN y autoridades del Gobierno de Nicaragua llegaron a realizar el lanzamiento de la Universidad en el Campo, lo que fue celebrado por los indígenas.

Ramon Taylor presidente del Territorio Indígena Mayangna Sauni Bas, dijo que este es un sueño que tenían no solo ellos sino sus ancestros de tener la universidad en su territorio y es gracias a la Revolución Popular Sandinista y la URACCAN que hoy es una realidad.

“este es un sueño de nuestros antepasados que lucharon para tener una universidad aquí en el territorio y hoy se logra gracias a la Revolución, eso para nosotros es un gran avance por que muchos de nosotros no podemos salir a estudiar a otro lugar” afirmo el presidente del territorio.

Por su parte la doctora Angelica Leonor Ruiz Calderón, vicerrectora de URACCAN las Minas declaró que este es un esfuerzo que desde el buen Gobierno se viene realizando para acercar la universidad a los pueblos originarios.

“Aquí de esta iniciando con 60 estudiantes que van a sacar la carrerea de Educación Bilingüe Intercultural EBI, todos ellos son docentes empíricos que ahora van a estudiar una carrera que es para el desarrollo de los pueblos originarios, tiene que ver con su cultura y su tradición” afirmo la vicerrectora.

Por su parte Julia Lagos, vicepresidenta del Consejo Regional Autónomo del a Costa Caribe recordó que antes los indígenas mayangnas tenían que salir de sus casas en hogares sustitutos para poder estudiar la primaria en Bonanza, hoy eso es historia aquí esta uno de los mejores centros de educación, y ahora ha llegado la universidad eso es un sueño hecho realidad para los indígenas.

University in the countryside arrived in the capital Mayangna in the heart of the Bosawas reserve

More than 60 students from the original Mayangna people began their university studies in Musawas, capital of the Mayangna people, where the Government of Nicaragua, through the URACCAN University of the National Council of Universities, through the University in the Countryside, a government strategy that has the objective of bringing higher education to the most remote places in the country.

Musawas, is the capital of the Mayangna indigenous people, and is located in the municipality of Bonanza, this is the first Mayangna indigenous territory, Mayangna Sauni Bas, for this reason the URACCAN university and authorities of the Nicaraguan Government came to launch the University in the Field, which was celebrated by the indigenous people.

Ramon Taylor, president of the Mayangna Sauni Bas Indigenous Territory, said that this is a dream that not only they but their ancestors had of having a university in their territory and it is thanks to the Sandinista Popular Revolution and URACCAN that today it is a reality.

«This is a dream of our ancestors who fought to have a university here in the territory and today it is achieved thanks to the Revolution, that for us is a great advance because many of us cannot go out to study elsewhere» affirmed the territory president.

For her part, Dr. Angelica Leonor Ruiz Calderón, vice-rector of URACCAN las Minas, declared that this is an effort that the good government has been making to bring the university closer to the native peoples.

“Here it is starting with 60 students who are going to take the EBI Intercultural Bilingual Education degree, all of them are empirical teachers who are now going to study a degree that is for the development of the original peoples, it has to do with their culture and their tradition” affirmed the vice-rector.

For her part, Julia Lagos, vice president of the Autonomous Regional Council of the Caribbean Coast, recalled that before the indigenous Mayangnas had to leave their homes in substitute homes to be able to study primary school in Bonanza, today that is history here is one of the best centers of education, and now the university has arrived, that is a dream come true for the indigenous people.
