La representación de la Costa Caribe Norte logra ganar su primer juego en el campeonato nacional de béisbol, mayor A en Malpaisillo frente a los toros Chontales, con una labor monticular de lujo del zurdo de Walpasiksa Oscar Chow.

El zurdo de Prinzapolka recorrió las nueve entradas propinando 12 ponches, le conectaron 11 imparables y enfrento a 37 toros de Chontales, perdió el juego Oswaldo Robleto.

Por el Caribe Norte se destacaron David Gonzales, de 4-2, dos carreras impulsadas, y José Ramón Vega que se fue de 3-1, por Chontales Orlando Murillo se fue de 4-3 con 1 carrera impulsada, Heyner Zambrana de 5-3 con una anotada un doble, Ángel Amador de 4-2, el juego fue decidido por David Gonzales.

En otros resultados del grupo B Masaya venció a Rio San Juan 11×5, Leon derroto a Matagalpa 9×6.

En el grupo a El Caribe Sur venció a Carazo 2×1, Rivas blanqueo a Zelaya Central 15×0 y Leon venció a Boaco 3×2.

En el grupo C Granada venció a Nueva Segovia 12×2, Estelí doblego a Jinotega 8×2, Chinandega venció a Managua 7×4.

En el grupo A Rivas, el Caribe Sur y Leon ganan su primer juego y están a la cabeza de su grupo, en el grupo B el Caribe Norte Masaya y Leon ganaron y en el C, Granada Estelí y Granada, lideran sus grupos.

Juegos de Domingo 10 de mayo, en Mina el Limón a las 10:00 am Boaco se medirá ante Rivas, en Malpaisillo La RACCS enfrentará a Zelaya Central, y Carazo se medirá ante Leon “B”.

En Nagarote a las 9:00 am Matagalpa se medirá con la Costa caribe Norte, Rio San Juan se medirá ante Chontales y Masaya enfrentará a Leon “A”.

En Leon Jinotega se medirá ante Granada, Estelí se medirá ente Chinandega y Nueva Segovia se medirá ante Managua.
