Tormenta tropical “ETA” amenaza centro de Cuba
Eta, vigésimo octavo fenómeno atmosférico de la temporada, volvió a ser este sábado tormenta tropical y amenaza regiones de la costa sur del centro de Cuba para el final del día.
De acuerdo con el Centro Nacional de Huracanes de Estados Unidos, Eta retomó la fuerza de tormenta tropical en aguas cálidas del mar Caribe.
Su centro, que se reconstruye al noreste, fue localizado a las 10:00, hora local, cerca de la latitud 19.6 Norte, longitud 81.8 Oeste con un movimiento hacia el noreste a cerca de 28 kilómetros por hora (km/h).
La trayectoria pronosticada sitúa a Eta próxima a las Islas Caimán en la tarde del día de hoy, y estará cerca del centro de Cuba en la noche.
Ante esa situación, el Estado Mayor Nacional de la Defensa Civil de la isla estableció desde este viernes la fase de alerta ciclónica para territorios del centro y occidente del país.
El parte meteorológico indica que, para el domingo, la tormenta Eta se aproximará a los Cayos de Florida, en territorio estadounidense.
Los vientos máximos sostenidos están cerca de los 65 km/h con ráfagas más fuertes y se prevé un fortalecimiento adicional el domingo en la noche.
Por otro lado, los vientos de tormenta tropical se extienden hasta los 95 kilómetros desde el centro con una presión central mínima estimada en 998 hectoPascal.
Tropical storm «ETA» threatens central Cuba
Eta, the twenty-eighth atmospheric phenomenon of the season, was once again a tropical storm this Saturday and threatens regions of the southern coast of central Cuba by the end of the day.
According to the National Hurricane Center of the United States, Eta resumed the strength of a tropical storm in warm waters of the Caribbean Sea.
Its center, which is rebuilt to the northeast, was located at 10:00, local time, near latitude 19.6 North, longitude 81.8 West with a movement towards the northeast at about 28 kilometers per hour (km / h).
The forecast trajectory places Eta close to the Cayman Islands in the afternoon today, and it will be close to the center of Cuba at night.
Given this situation, the island’s National Civil Defense Staff established the cyclonic alert phase for territories in the center and west of the country since Friday.
The weather forecast indicates that, by Sunday, the Eta storm will approach the Florida Keys, in the United States.
Maximum sustained winds are near 65 km / h with stronger gusts and further strengthening is forecast Sunday night.
On the other hand, tropical storm winds extend up to 95 kilometers from the center with a minimum central pressure estimated at 998 hectoPascal.
