Cédula vencida no será impedimento para votar

La ciudadanía podrá ejercer su derecho al voto aún con su cédula vencida, aseguró este jueves Brenda Rocha, magistrada presidenta del Consejo Supremo Electoral CSE).

“La verificación masiva y digo masiva porque siempre estamos recordando a todos que la verificación nuestra es permanente. Tenemos 132 oficinas que la población hace su trámite a diario. Hemos avanzado en ese proceso de cedulación para actualizar cambios de domicilios”, dijo.

Expresó también que el objetivo principal es que la ciudadana o ciudadano conozca dónde será el Centro de Votación donde efectuará su voto el próximo 7 de noviembre. Así mismo, funciona para informar sobre algún cambio de domicilio.

“El proceso es masivo, nosotros como Consejo Supremo Electoral vamos cumpliendo con cada una de las actividades del Calendario Electoral”, indicó.

«Hay personas que tienen más de dos años que no han ejercido su voto. Ellos tienen que ir al centro donde generalmente han ido a ejercer su voto»; explicó la funcionaria.

Otro punto importante es que si la persona no tiene su cédula, puede ir con su colilla que entrega el CSE una vez que uno hace el trámite por reposición o nueva cédula.

«Los que tienen cédulas vencidas también pueden ir a verificar sin ningún problema», indicó la magistrada.

Adultos mayores no pagan por reponer cédula vencida

La funcionaria recordó que cualquier persona que tenga su cédula vencida puede ir a hacer el trámite, el costo es de 300 córdobas; aunque para el adulto mayor es completamente gratis.

Rocha recordó que el 8 de septiembre terminan los trámites de cambio de domicilio, pero el trabajo en el CSE continúa.

“Hemos aperturado por esa demanda, ahora están todas las oficinas nuestras de 8 am a 5 pm los días sábados. Más de 8 mil personas que ha sacado su cédula en lo que llevamos de julio”, indicó Rocha.

Cualquier ciudadano o ciudadana que no se verifique, no pierde el derecho al voto; eso es algo que aclaró Brenda. Expresó que la importancia de la verificación es para saber exactamente dónde será el Centro de Votación para cada persona.

El padrón electoral actualmente anda en unos 4 millones de personas.

Igualmente dijo que, si a las 5 pm en este proceso de Verificación Ciudadana todavía hay personas, no se cerrará hasta que se termine de verificar a la última persona en fila.

También explicó que todo el equipo de trabajo del CSE cumplirá con las medidas sanitarias para prevención del Covid-19.

La magistrada presidenta dijo que se va cumpliendo con todo lo que establece el Calendario Electoral e indicó de los pasos a seguir camino a las Elecciones 2021.

Expired ID will not be an impediment to vote

Citizens will be able to exercise their right to vote even with their identity card expired, said Brenda Rocha, magistrate president of the Supreme Electoral Council CSE).

“The massive verification and I say massive because we are always reminding everyone that our verification is permanent. We have 132 offices that the population does its processing on a daily basis. We have made progress in this identification process to update address changes, ”she said.

She also expressed that the main objective is for the citizen to know where the Voting Center will be where she will vote for her on November 7. Likewise, it works to inform about a change of address.

«The process is massive, we as the Supreme Electoral Council are complying with each of the activities of the Electoral Calendar,» she indicated.

“There are people who are more than two years old who have not cast their vote. They have to go to the center where they have generally gone to vote ”; the official explained.

Another important point is that if the person does not have her identity card, she can go with her cigarette butt that is delivered by the CSE once one makes the procedure for replacement or new identification.

«Those who have expired certificates can also go to verify without any problem,» said the magistrate.

Seniors do not pay to replace expired ID

The official recalled that anyone who has an expired ID can go to do the procedure, the cost is 300 cordobas; although for the elderly it is completely free.

Rocha recalled that on September 8, the procedures for the change of address end, but the work at the CSE continues.

“We have opened for that demand, now all our offices are open from 8 am to 5 pm on Saturdays. More than 8 thousand people who have obtained their identity card so far in July, ”said Rocha.

Any citizen who is not verified does not lose the right to vote; that’s something Brenda clarified. She expressed that the importance of verification is to know exactly where the Voting Center will be for each person.

The electoral roll currently stands at about 4 million people.

She also said that, if there are still people in this Citizen Verification process, it will not close until the last person in line is finished verifying.

She also explained that the entire CSE work team will comply with the health measures for the prevention of Covid-19.

The presiding magistrate said that she is complying with everything established in the Electoral Calendar and indicated the steps to follow on the way to the 2021 Elections.
