The Nicaraguan Caribbean baseball series. A classic event worth imitating.

Baseball has been played on the Caribbean Coast since 1888, but the oldest sporting event that has been held without interruption in Nicaragua since 1952, created by our coastal parents and grandparents to promote encounter and unity, is the Nicaraguan Caribbean Baseball Series; in which Caribbean people participate annually in interculturality, regardless of whether they are from the North or South of the Caribbean.

In our country we have had many leagues, tournaments, championships and sports series that start, but do not last,…The professional baseball league in Nicaragua began in 1956 but had a short duration until 1967 and was restarted 20 years ago. The FENIBA was founded only in 1958, the first division of baseball began in 1970, the German Pomares League began in 1980 and was interrupted during neoliberalism and was resumed until 2009. The National Senior A Championship in its current form barely has 45 years.

For 73 continuous years, the municipalities, athletes, authorities and families of the Caribbean have been meeting in the April/May period for a sports festival that unites people identified as coastal or Caribbean, which not even hurricanes, pandemics, wars, changes in government, transportation difficulties or other adversities; For this reason, the Nicaraguan Caribbean Series has become part of the cultural identity of the coastal people.

We greet all the teams and delegations participating in the LXXIII Nicaraguan Caribbean baseball series that opens tomorrow, Thursday, April 11 in Bonanza. One of the teams will be the champion, but we will all continue to be brothers and sisters of the multiethnic, multilingual and multicultural coastal people.

  1. It’s amazing to pay a quick visit this web page
and reading the views of all friends on the topic of
this piece of writing, while I am also eager of getting familiarity.

  2. I’m amazed, I have to admit. Seldom do I encounter a blog
that’s equally educative and interesting, and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head.
The issue is an issue that too few men and women are speaking intelligently about.

Now i’m very happy I came across this during my hunt for something relating to this.

  3. An impressive share! I have just forwarded this onto a co-worker who was doing a little research
on this. And he actually bought me breakfast simply because
I discovered it for him… lol. So allow me to reword this….
Thank YOU for the meal!! But yeah, thanks for spending the time to talk about this matter here on your web site.
