Eta se fortalece: pronto será huracán rumbo a Puerto Cabezas
La Tormenta Tropical Eta se ha fortalecido y está a punto de convertirse en huracán categoría 1.
Un avión de reconocimiento de la Administración Nacional Oceánica y Atmosférica de los Estados Unidos (NOAA), entró en el centro de la tormenta tropical Eta y detectó que la presión barométrica en el centro cayó a 993 milibares, lo cual indica que se está fortaleciendo.
Cuando la presión barométrica baja en el centro de la tormenta, la velocidad del viento aumenta; si la presión sube, la velocidad del viento disminuye.
La Tormenta Eta mantiene su trayectoria hacia el Caribe Norte de Nicaragua y probablemente impactará como huracán en algún punto entre Bilwi y Karawala.
Al impactar sus vientos perderán fuerza y se degradará de huracán a tormenta, en su trayecto hacia el triángulo minero. Luego su rumbo será los macizos montañosos de El Cuá, Jinotega para finalmente salir por El Jícaro hacia Honduras.
Se espera que ETA se convierta en huracán la noche del domingo. Debe impactar en Nicaragua la noche del lunes o la madrugada del martes y existe el riesgo de marejada ciclónica, vientos con fuerza de huracán y fuertes lluvias en porciones de Nicaragua y Honduras.
Hasta el jueves 5 por la tarde, las fuertes lluvias de Eta pueden provocar inundaciones repentinas potencialmente mortales y desbordamiento de ríos en Jamaica, las Islas Caimán y Centroamérica, junto con deslizamientos de tierra especialmente sobre las montañas.

Este sábado el Presidente de Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega Saavedra, ordenó al Sistema Nacional para la Prevención, Mitigación y Atención de Desastres (SINAPRED), decretar el estado de Alerta Amarilla para la Región Autónoma del Caribe Norte, para el Triángulo Minero, Jinotega y Nueva Segovia, y alerta verde para el resto del país.
El Sinapred envió la madrugada de ayer sábado camiones cargados de suministros de primera respuesta con destino a la Costa Caribe Norte de forma preventiva, ante la aproximación de un disturbio atmosférico que pudiera convertirse en depresión tropical. De acuerdo con una nota de prensa, los camiones llevan frazadas, colchonetas, hamacas, plástico negro, kit de higiene personal y alimentos.
Los expertos pronostican que Eta se transforme en huracán para el lunes, y el martes por la mañana esté cerca de las costas nororientales de Nicaragua y Honduras. En ambos países de Centroamérica, las autoridades han emitido una alerta de ciclón. Eta avanzaba hacia el oeste a unos 24 km/h (15mph).
El sistema mostraba vientos máximos sostenidos de 65 kilómetros por hora (40 millas por hora), dice el reporte del NHC. Tenía su centro 345 kilómetros (215 millas) al sur-sureste de Kingston, Jamaica, y 700 kilómetros (435 millas) al este del Cabo Gracias a Dios en la frontera entre Nicaragua y Honduras.
La NHC indicó que la vigilancia de huracán está en efecto para la costa noreste de Honduras desde Punta Patuca hasta la frontera con Nicaragua, así como para la costa noreste de este país desde la frontera hasta Punta Cabezas.
Mientras, en El Salvador, el Ministerio de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (MARN) detalló que sigue evaluando “el desarrollo” del sistema “para informar oportunamente”.
El meteoro podría descargar hasta 38 centímetros (15 pulgadas) de lluvia en partes de Jamaica, Islas Caimán y la costa sur de La Española para el jueves por la noche. En puntos aislados de Honduras y Nicaragua podrían registrarse hasta 76 centímetros (30 pulgadas) de agua.
La temporada de huracanes todavía tiene un mes por delante, que termina el 30 de noviembre. Y en 2005, Zeta se formó a fines de diciembre.
Según medios internacionales, Eta hizo que la actual temporada de tormentas iguale el récord del número de las registradas en el 2005.

Eta strengthens: it will soon be a hurricane heading to Puerto Cabezas
Tropical Storm Eta has strengthened and is about to become a Category 1 hurricane.
A reconnaissance plane from the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) entered the center of Tropical Storm Eta and detected that the barometric pressure in the center fell to 993 millibars, indicating that it is strengthening.

This Saturday the President of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega Saavedra, ordered the National System for the Prevention, Mitigation and Attention of Disasters (SINAPRED), to decree the status of Yellow Alert for the Autonomous Region of the North Caribbean, for the Mining Triangle, Jinotega and Nueva Segovia, and a green alert for the rest of the country.
Sinapred sent trucks loaded with first response supplies early Saturday morning to the North Caribbean Coast in a preventive manner, given the approach of an atmospheric disturbance that could turn into a tropical depression. According to a press release, the trucks carry blankets, mats, hammocks, black plastic, a personal hygiene kit and food.
Experts predict that Eta will become a hurricane by Monday, and by Tuesday morning it will be near the northeastern coasts of Nicaragua and Honduras. In both Central American countries, the authorities have issued a cyclone alert. Eta was moving west at about 24 km / h (15 mph).
The system showed maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (40 miles per hour), the NHC report says. It was centered 345 kilometers (215 miles) south-southeast of Kingston, Jamaica, and 700 kilometers (435 miles) east of Cape Gracias a Dios on the border between Nicaragua and Honduras.
