Investigan muerte de mamá y bebé en hospital de Siuna

Una comisión de alto nivel del Ministerio de Salud de Nicaragua se encuentra en Siuna, en el Caribe Norte, investigando las circunstancias en que se dio la muerte materna y su bebe en el hospital primario Carlos Centeno de Siuna, en el Caribe Norte.

Una fuente oficial confirmó a Sistema de Noticias del Caribe, que se ha ordenado una exhaustiva investigación de la muerte materna en el centro asistencial, donde los familiares de la madre señalan que hubo negligencia médica.

Marlene Sánchez Zamora de 22 años de la comunidad La Gasolina, tenía 35 semanas de gestación, y asistió al centro asistencial para recibir atención medica donde fue atendida por el medico Benito Vanegas.

Según los familiares, el Dr. Vanegas orientó a enfermeras aplicarle dos inyecciones, además, recetó un sobre de Omeprazol de 20 miligramos, uno de dimenhidrinato y uno de sertal compuesto, sin hacer los análisis necesarios.

Luego le dio de alta sin hacer exámenes médicos necesarios, lo que es considerado como una negligencia debido al estado de gravedad y le dio de alta con cita para que se presente el día lunes.

Los familiares señalaron que al llegar a casa la joven embarazada seguía muy mal de salud, por lo que deciden regresarla al hospital, ella iba vomitando sangre y dejó de reaccionar.

La joven entro a sala de emergencias a las 4:00 pm de este domingo 16 de mayo, pero, en estado crítico de salud, siendo intubada inmediatamente.

Los médicos salieron a avisarles a las 10:00 pm para informales que él bebe había muerto y esperarían que se estabilice para sacarle él bebe.

Marlene Sánchez Zamora murió a las 4:20 am en la sala de cuidados intensivos del Hospital Primario Carlos Centeno del municipio de Siuna.

La joven según epicrisis murió por shock cardiogénico, edema agudo de pulmón refractario y eclampsia, a consecuencia de lesión renal aguda, hemorragia intracraneal y acidosis respiratoria.

Los familiares fueron a poner la denuncia en la Policía Nacional pero allí les dijeron que no reciben ese tipo de denuncias.

Está madre deja una niña de 5 años de edad con Síndrome de Down en la orfandad y a una familia destrozada por su inesperada y trágica muerte.

Mientras la comisión de alto nivel del Ministerio de Salud hace las averiguaciones para tomar medidas y sancionar a los responsables.

Death of mother and baby investigated in Siuna hospital

A high-level commission of the Nicaraguan Ministry of Health is in Siuna, in the North Caribbean, investigating the circumstances in which the maternal death and her baby occurred at the Carlos Centeno de Siuna primary hospital, in the North Caribbean.

An official source confirmed to Sistema de Noticias del Caribe that an exhaustive investigation of the maternal death has been ordered at the health center, where the mother’s relatives point out that there was medical negligence.

Marlene Sánchez Zamora, 22 years old from the La Gasolina community, she was 35 weeks pregnant, and she attended the health center to receive medical attention where she was treated by the doctor Benito Vanegas.

According to the relatives, Dr. Vanegas directed the nurses to give him two injections, in addition, he prescribed a 20-milligram sachet of Omeprazole, one of dimenhydrinate and one of compound sertal, without doing the necessary tests.

Then she discharged him without conducting the necessary medical examinations, which is considered negligence due to the serious condition, and discharged him by appointment to appear on Monday.

The relatives pointed out that when the young pregnant woman got home, she was still in very poor health, so they decided to return her to the hospital, she was vomiting blood and stopped reacting.

The young woman entered the emergency room at 4:00 pm this Sunday, May 16, but, in critical health, she was immediately intubated.

The doctors came out to notify them at 10:00 pm to inform them that the baby she had died and they would wait for her to stabilize to take the baby from her.

Marlene Sánchez Zamora died at 4:20 am in the intensive care room of the Carlos Centeno Primary Hospital in the municipality of Siuna.

According to epicrisis, the young woman died of cardiogenic shock, acute refractory lung edema, and eclampsia, as a result of acute kidney injury, intracranial hemorrhage, and respiratory acidosis.

The relatives went to file a complaint with the National Police but there they were told that they do not receive such complaints.

While the high-level commission of the Ministry of Health makes inquiries to take measures and punish those responsible.
