Alcaldía de Siuna entrega fondos para catedral protempore Nuestro Señor de Esquipulas
El alcalde de Siuna Otilio Duarte Herrera, entregó un cheque por la suma de 250 mil córdobas al presbítero Carlos Zúniga párroco de Siuna y rector de la catedral protempore Nuestro Señor de Esquipulas, en Siuna Region Autónoma de la Costa Caribe Norte.
La catedral protempore, fue declarado patrimonio cultural municipal y con esos recurso se realizara el mantenimiento a de este patrimonio cultural en Siuna, dijo el alcalde Duarte Herrera.
El Párroco Carlos Alberto Zuniga agradeció al Gobierno Municipal y su alcalde Otilio Duarte por ese compromiso en favor a la paz y a la cultura y a los valores cristianos.
“La municipalidad ha asumido un compromiso desde la declaración como patrimonio cultural municipal en darle mantenimiento debido a que es un templo de madera y requiere de mucho cuido y por ello vamos año a año recibiendo de parte de la municipalidad” afirmó Carlos Zuniga Soto.
La Iglesia Católica Nuestro Señor de Esquipulas fue declarada «patrimonio cultural» en diciembre del año 2016, pero fue el 15 de enero del año 2017 en celebración de las fiestas patronales que se dio la lectura de la declaración patrimonio cultural histórico, artístico, monumental y documental de la Iglesia Católica que constituye una parte esencial del patrimonio cultural del municipio de Siuna.

The mayor of Siuna Otilio Duarte Herrera, delivered a check for the sum of 250 thousand cordobas to the priest Carlos Zúniga, parish priest of Siuna and rector of the Our Lord of Esquipulas protempore cathedral, in Siuna Autonomous Region of the North Caribbean Coast.
The protempore cathedral was declared municipal cultural heritage and with these resources the maintenance of this cultural heritage in Siuna will be carried out, said Mayor Duarte Herrera.
The Parish Priest Carlos Alberto Zuniga thanked the Municipal Government and its mayor Otilio Duarte for this commitment in favor of peace and culture and Christian values.
«The municipality has made a commitment since the declaration as municipal cultural heritage to maintain it because it is a wooden temple and requires a lot of care and therefore we are receiving from the municipality year after year,» said Carlos Zuniga Soto.
