La Iglesia Morava de Nicaragua después de 170 años de evangelizar en la Costra Caribe de Nicaragua, atraviesa una de sus peores crisis internas, que ha dividido a la feligresía en dos bandos, uno que apoya a la Junta Provincial y otra al grupo liderado por el obispo William Webster que convocó a un sínodo donde eligieron a Ofelia Álvarez como superintendente de la Junta Provincial.

Recientemente del 4 al 8 de noviembre se realizó el sínodo por parte del grupo que lidera Joseph Rivera, donde eligieron como superintendente a Evenor Ismael referendo de la Iglesia Morava y del pueblo Mayangna.

En el sínodo 18 de la iglesia morava también fueron elegidos dos obispos siendo ellos el reverendo Joseph Rivera y el Mayangna de Musawas, presbítero Rogelio Juan Zacarías.

El sínodo 18 fue cuestionado por el otro grupo que lidera el reverendo Roger Wilson y el Obispo William Webster, que anunciaron que impugnarán la realización del sínodo, por supuestas irregularidades.

Roger Wilson y un grupo de feligreses moravos mantienen tomadas las instalaciones de la Junta Provincial de la Iglesia Morava en Bilwi, y anunció que no reconocen lo actuado en el sínodo convocado por Joseph Rivera.

Los feligreses moravos marcharon el pasado miércoles en Bilwi y se reunieron en una masiva manifestación en respaldo al obispo William Webster y desconocen el sínodo provincial realizado por el grupo de Joseph Rivera, donde se eligió un nuevo superintendente y dos nuevos obispos.

La Iglesia Morava ahora está en una encrucijada, pues dos superintendentes se adjudican la representacion de la iglesia en Nicaragua, los dos superintendentes electos en diferentes momentos en sínodos diferentes son la reverenda Ofelia Álvarez y Evenor Ismael.

Serán las autoridades del Ministerio de Gobernación que finalmente emitirán la certificación de la representación legal de esta iglesia en Nicaragua.

Moravian Church in crisis with two superintendents and four bishops

The Moravian Church of Nicaragua after 170 years of evangelizing in the Caribbean Crust of Nicaragua, is going through one of its worst internal crises, which has divided the parishioner into two sides, one that supports the Provincial Board and another to the group led by the Bishop William Webster who summoned a synod where Ofelia Álvarez was elected as superintendent of the Provincial Board.

Recently from November 4 to 8 the synod was held by the group led by Joseph Rivera, where they elected as Superintendent Evenor Ismael referendum of the Moravian Church and the Mayangna people.

In the synod 18 of the Moravian church, two bishops were also elected, the Rev. Joseph Rivera and the Mayangna of Musawas, presbyter Rogelio Juan Zacarías.

Synod 18 was questioned by the other group led by Reverend Roger Wilson and Bishop William Webster, who announced that they will contest the realization of the synod, for alleged irregularities.

Roger Wilson and a group of Moravian parishioners keep the facilities of the Provincial Board of the Moravian Church in Bilwi, and announced that they do not recognize what was done at the synod convened by Joseph Rivera.

The Moravian parishioners marched last Wednesday in Bilwi and met in a massive demonstration in support of Bishop William Webster and ignore the provincial synod made by the group of Joseph Rivera, where a new superintendent and two new bishops were elected.

The Moravian Church is now at a crossroads, as two superintendents are awarded the representation of the church in Nicaragua, the two elected superintendents at different times in different synods are the Reverend Ofelia Álvarez and Evenor Ismael.

 

They will be the authorities of the Ministry of the Interior that will finally issue the certification of the legal representation of this church in Nicaragua.
